I recently join the U.S. Navy reserve a few weeks ago and was sent to boot camp. At the boot camp i found it hard to adjust to the new life and feeling depress. I was finally ordered to see the doctor and was diagnosed as depressed and was medically discharged for that reason. Can i still join the navy after overcoming my depression?

What does your DD214 say?

OTH (other than Honorable)
Honorable (with medical reasons)

There's an appeal process but you need to talk to a recruiter who knows the process

I really don't think you have much of a shot

Currently, it is a minimum 1 year from the time you stop taking any meds for depression. At that point you can attempt to join, and you will be medically re-evalutated. To those asking about a DD214, you dont recieve one for less than 90 days of service.

what is you rRE code? if it is a 4, you are out of luck. If it is a 3, you must show that the reason for your discharge no longer exists. if you were given ,meds for your depression, you must be off them and functionnormally for 12 months before ytou can try and get back in.

You can always ask, but I doubt it.
What guarantee can you give them that it won't happen again?
