I was against the war from the very beginning, and my feelings about it are even stronger now than they were back then. I told everyone what we were in for, but nobody listened!

Lol this is going to be hard to believe but I actually wanted the coallition to go into Iraq and kick Saddam's ***. But I was terribly misinformed. Back at that time after 9/11 I believed that terrorists had attacked the twin towers and I also believed my government telling me that Saddam had nuclear capability and had massive stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction that could be set up to hit British shores within 45 minutes, as that is what all of us were told in the media and at the time I had no reason to question what my government and the media were telling me. It wasn't until about 6 months ago I started doing a bit of research of my own that I came across some interesting facts about the whole deal that were kept out of the media about 9/11, oil, George Bush, the media, and many other things. I now know that the Iraq war in particular is one of the worst war crimes of the last century. The UN weapons inspectors were not given adequate time to check through Iraq and if they were a country of means there would have been no way that any army on earth would have been able to penetrate Baghdad in 48 hours of invading. That country lacked any ability to defend itself. Iraq was a country ruined by years of sanctions and could barely function let alone threaten the US. I think the best way to be informed in this day and age is to educate yourself especially when it is to do with information gathered from the mainstream media. I would not have supported the Iraq war at the start if I had been told the truth.

No, of course not. I bought Bush and Cheney's manipulated intelligence, just as the Congress did, and just as most of the country did. I bought the whole WMD thing, and I bought into the whole connection with 9/11, and the case that we had no choice but to go into Iraq. Yep, I'm admitting it and I'm not proud of it by any means. Looking back, I see how easy it was for them. We were still reeling over 9/11 and when America has a major crisis we naturally look to our President for the truth and the solution. It's why we elect them. No, I would not support going into Iraq, knowing what we know now.

The honorable war is in Afghanistan (I say 'IS', not 'Was') - Bin Laden is still at large and the majority of our forces are still in Iraq.

I will never understand why we did not send our forces IN FORCE to get those who attacked us on 9/11. Anyone who thinks that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 is gravely misinformed.

No, I wouldn't change my mind, I'd still have been against invading Iraq and Afghanistan. I just don't see the mere invasion of a couple of blacksheep Muslim nations as a propper response to 9/11.

Actually, it didn't matter whether I or my fellow citizens approved of it or not. George would have still declared war on Iraq. And if I had had a vote in it, I would have voted against it. I had enough sense to realize that Osama bin Laden had no ties to Iraq. And George had no proof that there were actually WMD's there. I saw it as another Viet Nam from the start.

Didn't support it at the time because I felt we would destabalize the country and we would be involved in a big mess. I was correct but now do not support leaving as there would be a blood bath in Iraq and the number of Iraqis dead to date would seem to be nothing compared to the millions that will eb slaughtered.

Bush would have done it anyways... He could not wait to build a true strategy for Irak...
I do not support the reasons given by Bush to go to war, but he has done it 10 years too early... As I truly believed that from the standing point of the US gov, they were truly forced to move on that matter and sooner was better than later, and Saddam use to know the game, and has played by its rules, and have lost by them too...
If you don't want to pay such price, you avoid playing such games...
Now if he could explain to everybody the real reason they go to Irak, maybe (i say maybe) that Americans would support it more than it is now...

"Knowing what we know now"? Sorry, but back then I knew it was a bad idea. All the weapons that they supposedly had were short range. We had already tightened on our border security for weapons personally carried in so that leaves the countries of close proximity in the highest danger. And they weren't all that motivated on the invasion based on the level of their commitments. That should've been a huge red flag. Democracy by any means neccessary is not a foriegn policy.

I NEVER supported it....nor did anyone I know, nor my family, friends, neighbors, people I work with, people I meet in the supermarket, conversations I overhear in public places.....Not many people did.

Anyone with a brain and who knew anything at all about Iraq could have forseen this mess we are in. Many, many did and many more tried to tell Bushie boy it was a bad idea - many told him there were no WMD's.... but, of course, King Bush with his highly intelligent and brilliant mind, incredible grasp of human history didn't listen to anyone because he is the King of all THings and knows it ALL. (And, he wanted those lovely oilfields.).

The only ones who didn't anticipate the results were him and his cronies, dumba** members of Congress who didn't check up on what they were being told, and Boobus Americanus.
