You know what I'm talking about... you cross a pregnant woman who looks very likely to be on welfare. I can't help but think it.

Calm down you frothing at the mouth lefties. I'm talking about the obvious cases. Yeah, I admit it, I am sick and tired of being expected to work for strangers forever and have my money pay for irresponsible behavior.

I'm negative? What could be more negative than propping up and encouraging bad behavior? Oh and by the way, I don't blame the child. I blame the irresponsible nitwits who think it's my job to pay for their lives.

My idiot brother-in-law and sister-in-law have just downloaded a kid in Febuary. They are so thrilled about all the public assitance they are getting, they are planning on downloading another one. I sit back and shake my head. My wife says her sister is an idiot. I always wondered how people became trailer trash.

Hershel:
Dear. I am sorry that there are women that are having children without the benefit of family or income.
But let us remember that #1: judge ye not, lest ye be judged, and #2: you can't judge a book by its cover.
So long as you don't know the person in question you should not presume to jump to the most negative conclusion.
We definitely have a long way to go, to UNDO the indoctrination of our present and upcoming generations. They (hell, I) was taught in sex-ed that sex was A-okay. That however, whoever, where ever, and whatever, was just fine.
Is there much wonder then that we have such a high rate of unmarried mothers.
Be glad, and blessed that this women chose life, instead of aborting.

No, I don't. Children are our future. If we need to take care of some, then that's the cost of being a compassionate society. I grew up on welfare for a time after my father went blind. I worked three jobs to get through college and was also fortunate to get many scholarships. Once my dad got some insurance money and social security benefits, he actually tried to pay the welfare office back and they didn't take the money, of course. You need to become a more positive person. Fortunately, I am not physically near you to receive the negative energy that is being produced inside you. Please learn how to do some meditation so you will not have such negative thoughts towards other members of society. Thank you.

I'm assuming you're a man, yes? Imagine if this girl was thirteen, and saying "I don't want kids when I grow up." You'd be the first person pulling the "You will when you're older" card.

There are some cases where I think that. You'd think I be the father or something! Many do look like welfare moms and sometimes they are, sorry to say. They don't work because they don't want to and the man left them or they don't even knkow who the father is. We are expected to take care of them with our paychecks, our wages garnished. We are paying child support while the biological father is out there somewhere avoiding his responsibility. Yet, when we complain they tell us to shut up and be compassionate. But are they ever compassionate with us? Do they understand that welfare is sick and a form of government interference in our private lives and worse, in our paychecks? They don't understand our reasons.

Not all poor people are on welfare. Most work hard everyday and if they have health insurance it eats up a fair chunk of their pay. I was in a similar position 26 years ago. I never received a dime of assistance so don't assume

Depends on what kind of day I'm having. But where I am all the new babies including mine are paid for by the taxpayers. (Military Base) But they have earned it.
Still I do wonder how one person can raise 6 kids and still keep everything together.
You would not believe the number of 4 plus child families there are in the military.

Since I am not as cynical as You I look at a pregnant woman and wonder how the child will grow up. Whenever I look at a young one I am awed by the innocence and trust their little eyes reveal. Catching those smiles and the hopes for the future they have is a rare reward. People need to look for positive things about birth not negatives. Was it not in the bible that we are supposed to be fruit full and multiply?? God decides who has children but He lets us decide how they are raised. Think about it.

Over 500 billion spent and more than 3,000 live losts on an occupation in a foreign country and all you are worried about is whether someone can take care of their child or not.
Get a life.

Try thinking about it in a positive way. That child will very likely be working like a doggie to keep the botched-up Social Security system afloat once he's raised.
Will he look at you and think "there's another old fart I have to support"?

No not really. But I do wonder how many more there are at home, is there a father in the picture, and what are the odds of breaking the cycle this time?
