Should I just pay it, or do the mitigation or contested hearing? I was going 73 in a 60 but he wrote it up as a 65 in a 60, the fine is $81, should I defer or fight it? Also if I don't defer it, how do you think it would effect my insurance rates for a 20 year old?

Also any ideas of what to say if I do decide to do a hearing? I'm leaning towards mitigation hearing, where you admit to the infraction but want to explain the circumstances.

Also, can you do both a mitigation and a defferal?

I have two favorite TV shows: Law & Order and CSI. Both shows are all about crime solving, but each show a different angle of the process.

CSI has the crime scene techs doing all of the dirty work. They even interview the suspects. The detective plays a minor role in the solving of the crime. Law & Order is the opposite. The only time you even see the crime scene techs is when they pop in for five seconds with a one-liner like "the perp's fingerprints matched" or something like that!

So I know that TV is greatly exhaggerated, but what I don't know is which show is closer to being accurate? Who REALLY solves the crimes?

Here among the rolling hills of southwestern Pennsylvania, where the effects of the shuttered steel industry still linger and some single-family homes go for under $25,000, Marine recruiter Gunnery Sgt. Brian Bensen has a lot going for him: a love for his Marine Corps, a sense of compassion, and what many military recruiters call "the gift of gab."
But even a successful recruiter like Sergeant Bensen can find it difficult to convince a wary public that enlisting in the military, and maybe deploying to a war zone, is the way to go. That's especially true when it comes to convincing many would-be recruits, as well as their mothers – and now, increasingly, their fathers, too.
It's a sign of the new difficulties in selling Americans on the tradition of service to one's country at a time when the military is growing and the public's patience for the war in Iraq is on the wane.
"You have just as many people coming to us because of the war as I think you have people leaning away from it," he says.
Not for long, if you ask Barry McCaffrey, a retired Army four-star general. He's been critical of the administration's execution of the war and believes the government is "denying reality" when it comes to the impacts the protracted conflict is having on the services. He is not surprised that parents are raising their collective eyebrows.
"The parents of the country now say, '29,000 killed and wounded, the president doesn't know what he is doing, we think the war is a mistake, and why would I want my son or daughter enlisting for college money?'" says McCaffrey. "So, no kidding, we've got trouble."
Yet not all parents buy into the not-my-kid mind-set, and defense officials believe there are enough of those kinds of parents to keep the military whole. Danielle Thompson, a Queens, N.Y., transplant who owns an apparel design shop called Any-Kind-a-Wear in nearby Monessen, says her daughter Olivia's military service makes her proud. Thompson wants US troops out of Iraq because she says Iraq is in a civil war and the troops should come home. But she supports the troops there despite her views, and when friends or neighbors ask her why, she counters with a question of her own.
"If not mine, then whose?" asks Thompson, who carries a picture of Olivia in uniform in her wallet. "If my daughter didn't go in, is your daughter going to go in?"

I read and responded to numerous questions about why doesn't the government do this or that.. And there is always some remark about needing a new president.
Does anyone know how our government works??
The Legislative Branch makes the laws. The Executive Branch enforces the laws. The Judicial Branch intreprets the laws.
The Republican President does not make the laws. The majority Democratic Congress does...

Okay I want to know exactly why so many people hate her. I don't care if she's the opposite party from you. I want real good details because otherwise it sound like plain hate with no real proof for why anybody hates her. Please give examples of things she's done or said so I know what is up with this anti-hilary $#!T.

I heard the Cato Institue said, "Gas will have to go up to $4.35 before people start changing their driving habits and protest the gas hike." Do you agree...??? How much before you do something about it? What can we do, especially those who need to drive to work, school, medical and stuff? AND for those who's towns don't have transit, or who can't ride a bike 17 miles to town...what do they do?

This isn't a partisan, white, black, Democrat, or Republican question. Making the current 12 million illegal aliens eligible for Social Security, Medicare and other government programs will do nothing more than make them go bankrupt even faster than the 25 years that politicians say they have left. So why are they willing to sacrifice our financial well being? Is it so the new citizens will vote for them? Maybe to help big business? It has to be something like that, whether for campaign cash or new voters. I thought maybe someone could help me out with this question because it does not make sense to me.

Marines fail to get gear to troops By RICHARD LARDNER
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070525/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/marines_critical_gear

WASHINGTON - The system for delivering badly needed gear to Marines in Iraq has failed to meet many urgent requests for equipment from troops in the field, according to an internal document obtained by The Associated Press.

Of more than 100 requests from deployed Marine units between February 2006 and February 2007, less than 10 percent have been fulfilled, the document says. It blamed the bureaucracy and a "risk-averse" approach by acquisition officials.

Among the items held up were a mine resistant vehicle and a hand-held laser system.

"Process worship cripples operating forces," according to the document. "Civilian middle management lacks technical and operational currency."

The 32-page document — labeled "For Official Use Only" — was prepared by the staff of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force after they returned from Iraq in February.

The document was to be presented in March to senior officials in the Pentagon's defense research and engineering office. The presentation was canceled by Marine Corps leaders because its contents were deemed too contentious, according to a defense official familiar with the document. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it publicly.

Let me get this straight. Democratic majority are against the war in Iraq. Hmm But..The Senate's 80-14 vote to send the legislation to the president came less than two hours after the House gave its approval on a margin of 280-142. In both cases, An oddity in an era of Democratic control.

"This debate will go on," vowed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
What debate Nancy? Your Democratic controled house and senate approved funding!

Now this is funny, flip flop. flip flop
