Let me get this straight. Democratic majority are against the war in Iraq. Hmm But..The Senate's 80-14 vote to send the legislation to the president came less than two hours after the House gave its approval on a margin of 280-142. In both cases, An oddity in an era of Democratic control.

"This debate will go on," vowed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
What debate Nancy? Your Democratic controled house and senate approved funding!

Now this is funny, flip flop. flip flop

Dang nab-its - those democratic hypocrites are now full pledged democratic idiots.....lol!

And for others to blame all this mess on Bush, did you forget Hillary, Kennedy, and other democratic leaders saying publically "We are positive that Saddam Hussein is a threat to the Middle East, the world, and our US interest, and find that it is imminent to remove this threat. Not to forget to mention the many other countries that said the same. And they all did a flip-flop, and uses Bush as their excuse and calls him a madman. Only a blind retard wouldn't see that coming, democrats bailing out for the votes and the vunerable falling for it.

I'm glad you are amused while soldiers die pointlessly. Your humor is lacking to say the least. Anyhow...obviously I am disappointed, but the big reason this had to happen was because the Dems did not have the vote to override the Pres's veto no matter what...you need 2/3 and no matter how you count it, it wouldn't add up (too many GOP left in the Congress). They wanted to end the game and get the troops the funding...I wish they would have kept sending the same bill back to Bush, but I suppose they saw this an exercise of futility and didn't want to waste the taxpayer's money because Bush's obstinance is overwhelming.

So...not flip-flopping (you neocons love lil catch-phrases), just common sense.

Bush referring to Kosovo and Clinton's handling of it....(0 troop deaths)

“Victory means exit strategy and it’s important to explain to us what the exit strategy is.” –George W. Bush, Governor of Texas 1999

“If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal, and an exit strategy.” Karen Hughes, Speaking on behalf of Presidential Candidate George W. Bush 1999

So...is Bush also a flip-flopper? Or, just bi-polar?

austingirl....If their main aim was to get funding to the troops as soon as possible, they wouldn't have been playing games with it in the first place. They were told a long time ago what the veto threshold would be. Why didn't they compromise in the first place. Because they would rather play politics with soldiers lives. If you really believe they did this to "save the taxpayers money", you are living in La-La land. Name one time any politician (liberal or conservative) wanted to save you money. ROFLMMFAO

Liberals? I see very few stinkin' liberals in congress despite the talk. Judge politicians by what they do rather than what they say.

The two major parties are conservative sheep. Vote Green.

Don't you know the true meaning of Liberal? It's a person who decides that his or her opinion just happens to be the same as the majority of people that are directly in front of them at the time. Gotta love 'em!! They can make everyone happy by agreeing to everything!!!
