I read it and it says the age of majority in NY is 21 (Not 18). I am currently a 19 year old boy from NY and I am just wondering. BTW, I live at home with my mom and dad and little sister.

No, they could have legally turned you out at 18; however, they are not required to do so.

Most parents love their kids and would not turn them out to the street at 18. If your parents are divorced, there may be a Decree in place as to what percentage each one of your parents needs to pay should you decide to pursue college up until age 22.

If your parents are still married, this would not apply.
