In 1947 when our country got independance, at that time I agree the condition of SC/ST and other backward caste people was worst and they required help to raised off.
So Gandhi ji had given reservation in Goverment jobs and other sector for 5yrs which was extended to 10yrs after completion and still there.
Now situation is that General category does get admission in Engineering or Medical Colleges or Goverment jobs due to shortage of seats or vaccancies.
What I feel that whether a person from any caste according to the caliber and capability jobs and adminssion to the colleges should takes place as only they are only going to brings the india up.
For example a student got admission in medical due to SC/ST qouta but not deserve to get adminssion. Becomes doctor after 2 or 3 attempts and not able to operate the patient properly
I want to know what is the use of such doctors or engineer in india

I am sick of living in a Nanny state! i am a grown man and don't like to be told I am not allowed to smoke in a pub, buy a hot sausage roll (I may die) etc. Health and safety and moral panic are neutering our freedoms. Choice is the key. Allow smoking and non smoking pubs, and if someone makes a choice to do something they are responsible towards the outcome - not central government.

I'm sad 'cause always that I open yahoo! answers I have to read something bad about my race...
I just came to USA to study and to find that there actually exists bad in the people, I just found out that we are not equals, that it is not the same red blood running in our veins... that skin color is what it counts....
I just read an answer that says "yeah, lets build a great big wall and protected by the delinquents". It isn't that sad? I know it is sad for my people to leave their countries and break rules, I know it is sad that they came here and try to live a little bit better than they did before...just because in our places we did not provide them with more jobs... but hey this is not just a problem that come from Mexican people, sadly my country has served as a bridge from most of the people in the world that want to have a piece of the "American Pie", but it seem is just us mexicans the ones to be blame...

I have been working really hard to join the Navy. I have lost 63 pounds so far, and have about 15 more to do. I know, that is a lot of weight and it's a little embarrassing. Anyway, how did you keep going when discouraged? Once you were able to enlist how was basic training for you? Any tips for success would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Should I take him seriously?? I said joking about it isn't funny; however, he said he wasn't joking and that he wasn't going to be alone. He continued with saying that he'll be the next Virginia Tech shooter. These threats scared me and I wondered if I should report him because it's either him or our lives. It would seem that some satellite imagery or video could pinpoint a location, tape a video of wide area, go back to the tape later to identify a vehicle that was used in a bombing, thus allowing intelligence to track where that vehicle originated from. Would it be that drones are more practical? Would it be that the vehicle would be too hard to identify?

Gov't stats show that guns owned by law abiding citizens are used more than criminals use their illegal guns. Citizens who defend their lives and property keep the crime stats down, there is NO room to interpret these facts, make LEGAL guns go away and only the crooks have guns and a bigger pool of victims!

you cannot keep an arm (gun or other form of weapon) if it is taken from you, and bearing it means carrying it upon one's person.

I just got a new job working at a gas station and on my first day of training I found out I wasnt getting paid while doing the normal work while training. Tomorrow will be my fourth day and I am still not getting paid. He said he will pay me when he feels I am ready to work alone which I feel confident that I am. Is this wrong? Is it illegal not to pay for training like this?
