I know over all they come from everywhere even outside of the country but in most wars the majority come from these areas.

These states have the lowest populations but do the majority of the fighting, why is that?

Yesterday was Mother's Day as you all know. I work at a restaurant. We got slammed with business unmercifully. I clocked in at 9 a.m. yesterday morning, and did not clock out until 9 p.m. last night. Our store manager did not only not give ME a break, but NO ONE got a break all day long. Oh well excuse me, I got two 5 minute breaks to go smoke a cigarette. But I had to sneak out to do that. To top it off, the jerk left at 6 pm, leaving the rest of us there! I know that last part isn't illegal, just him being the jerk he is. The law states that if we work at least 8 hours, our place of employment is required to give us at least a 30 minute break. The law was broke at the restaurant with at least 20 people yesterday. What can or should I do, if anything? Is that law not in effect somehow if a place of business gets unexpectedly overwhelmed like that? PS- I already quit, and I do have evidence that I did not get a break.

a few weeks ago there were more troops sent overseas here in VA. Somebody i know joined the army for the benifits. now hes freaking out and blaming Bush for his problems. Is it just me or when you join the army you go in knowing fully of the possible consequences? Don't complain when you recieve a notice letting you know you are being sent to war. Am i wrong?

This is a war that has to be fought just like the previous wars. Terrorist are unlike the germans or the russians koreans etc.. they wont give up unless we take it to them if we keep them on there heels they wont have time to plan another attack like september 11th. And by doubting the war you are only inspiring the insurgents to continue wreaking havoc upon our forces who are bravely trying to bring peace and justice to a nation that has known nothing but war and persecution. We can't let our guard down and Supporting what our soldiers are doing is just as important as supporting them...

Could it be that an Obama Presidency could have middle eastern appeal because of his inter-racial heritage? Violence would be halted considerably and diplomacy would have a chance to work.

What is the citizen status of American Indians? They are not controlled by the individual states or local governments, they can vote, but it seems they have a special status through federal treaties. If this is so, how could they get punished for any non federal crime. My high school son is having a debate in class...it concerns a ficticious Indian who is expelled from a state college for smoking pot. I understand that they can use peyote off reservation (federal supreme cout ruling)...My position is that the college would be discriminating against the religion of a federally recognized group...any thoughts?

I think he is being railroaded into helping them and he just does not know any better because he has never had to deal with the law before. Please help if you have any answers

My 20 month old daughter may have Rheumatoid Arthritis. We need to go see Kaiser's pediatric rheumatoid specialist. He is located at Kaiser's Oakland facility but is only there 1 day a week. According to my daughters pediatrician we need to get my daughter in for an appt within a week or two since the swelling in her knee is so severe it might cause permanent damage to her leg if left untreated too much longer.

Due to the Dr only being in Oakland 1 day a week our appt is not scheduled for a month. If we want an appt sooner Kaiser said we need to travel to Sacramento (where the rheumatoid pediatrician is stationed). Sacramento is 3 hours away!

My daughter's pediatrician put in a referral for us to see a Dr at Stanford Medical which is only 45 minutes away and they can see us within the two week timeframe. Problem is Kaiser denied her referral. I am going to appeal it. Please give me some pointers on going about the appeal process and what I should say.

i get a speeding ticket in a school zone its marked 20at all times. i admitt i was doing 30 but the cop said i was doing 45 no way i just pulled out of another street anyway. he doesnt give me a ticket because i cant find my license so he tells me to meet him back at the office after i get off work 3 hrs later. so i do. he shuts the door and proceeds to tell me that if he gives me a ticket for 45 in 20 i go to court but if he writes it as 30 in 20 its a fine only and did i want him to be nice or not? i said i guess i want the 30 since thats how fast i was going. and he said well its not just that easy. he said i could be really nice and throw the ticket away. (this cop has a rep for picking up women and letting them go for sex but i didnt believe it) anyway at that time i just said i think you should start writing that tick. he said but i could still be nice. and i said you do what you need to do and let me leave please he wrote it for 30 do you think he was offering me sex? or what?

Supply side conservatives believe that tax cuts (mostly for the rich), deregulation, and cutting social programs lead to better economic growth. Liberals believe that shifting the tax burden to the rich, creating laws and programs that help workers, consumers, and citizens, and creating social programs to help people help themselves leads to a larger more educated middle class and better economic growth.

WHO'S RIGHT? WHY NOT LET THE FACTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES?

My aunt has to go to truancy court in a few weeks because her son failed to turn in all of the Dr's excuses when he missed school. Her son has health problems and the day before they have to go to court he is having a special test on his stomach. My aunt explained this to the school and the school knows he has health problems and is in special ed classes. She says she is going to court and bringing a letter from the Dr stating all of this? He has missed 7 days of school but he has never turned in any notes so they got my aunt for truancy. She has been crying because she doesn't have a whole lot of money for the fines. My wife told her to try homeschooling because of all of the health issues. Does the school really lose out on money when a child misses school? I understand some kids play hooky but not in this situation.
