If we cut and run Iraq will collapse into a terrorist breeding failed state (plus the world will know we've failed).

It should also be obvious to anyone with half a brain that we are not winning now, and can't ever win with the current level of troops.

Why can't everyone (including the generals) just admit the obvious - only the draft and at least 500,000 troops on the ground can win this war.

This year lawmakers are engaging in a delicate balancing act to write a law supported by majority Democrats, who want a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants, while satisfying conservative Republicans, like Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl who do not want amnesty and say they do not want to reward illegal immigrants by giving them an easy path to citizenship.

How can you rationally reward people for one illegal act while imprisoning others ?
How is that equal treatment for all?

Is it asking too much for people to abide by the law?

The Senate is to meet the last 2 weeks of May on this issue -- How about letting your Senator know what your opinion is on this issue ?

I was strictly applying for an IT job in the Navy on a career site. A Navy recruiter contacted me and set up an appointment at a library where we talked and interviewed and I took a preliminary ASVAB test. I qualified in this first round. However, after talking to a former Army recruit (my supervisor of my current job as data entry clerk) who complained about all the withheld and exaggerated info and how screwed he was when he joined the army b/c his recruiter lied/sweet-talked him into it....and a few other Navy recruits about how they were deployed and stationed against all their will at the most dangerous sites and to battle on the field.....I'm growing skeptical and worrisome. I hear both stories, good and bad. A Navy recruit whom I know well says it's the best thing that's ever happened to him and he's living an awesome life. Another co-worker says her friend has benefits that outweigh the cons. I don't know. Can anyone give me advice or more info?

Do they have any value system or conscience? Or are they so desparate or do they simply not care? A study was done by Psychologists stating that the USA would be so crowded in just 5-10 years we'd not have room for all these people. They're having kids at a rate 10x's higher than USA citizens. The schools have become grossly overcrowded due to Mexicans. USA's populations is about 300Million. Take away 60Million ILLLEGALS and we'd have more resources for ourselves. Less crime. Many of them go to the USA's medical facilities and get FREE care. Why can't Mexico take care of it's own? Why don't they even try?

Do you have to have a Visa also when traveling to UK with one way ticket?
This is all so hard for me! I have never travel outside US before and I went to Post office got my passport application, now I hear you cant fly one way because there is no proof that I will leave country within 90 days. I bought one way because my friend there will be buying my return ticket later. It was due to limited income. I am going there to help with his health problems. Please help me to understand! Gay marriage is a HUGE issue for conservatives in this country, citing the bible as a refrence, in which it states “[Homosexuality] is detestable” (Leviticus 18:22). BUT my question is, in the very same book of the bible, God refers to something else as being "destestable": “Anything living in the water that does not have fins or scales is to be detestable to you” (Leviticus 11:12).
So one could argue, that in GOD's eyes, enjoying Unagi (freshwater eel) or octopus or shrimp, crab, lobster, is commiting the same "level" sin as a practicing homosexual.

alright i know the argument that no one is trying to stop homosexuals from having sex, just stopping legal recognition of the relationship, But my question then would be, How did sushi bars or seafood restaurants get health department approval, legal regodnition of their businesses.
