Why do Conservatives hate the truth so much and how do they rationalize fact from fiction?

Despite all the evidence of failure by this rubbish administration, all I read here is that things are going well, support the president, usual diatribe.... when are they going to act like real Americans

If your statement is true, then why are the Edits in on your side of the table. Moyers had the edit, Time used a tape with the insurgent edit to show war crimes in Haditha and the case is now unraveling. The Koran in the toilet edit, The Dan Rather Microsoft did not exist in 1973 Edit. The countless times the New York Times got it wrong edit, or how about the Reuters more smoke in Beirut edit. I prefer the no EDIT, but alas Humanist, Your side loves the EDIT. I actually cited the edits to my credit. Where is your edit?

I dont think they hate truth so much as accurate facts create difficulties in continuing to percieve the world as all roses and spring shopping in an open air market. There are very few facts in the world, what people actually get into their heads is prespun like so much yarn.

Perfect answer, superpolitics! I certainly cannot top it! But, my life is a perfect example of how well things are NOT going! So, as a Liberal I am fighting for my very survival....but not just my own survival, but also to the survival of the millions or maybe even billions of other people, who can also attest to how well things are NOT going in this country! *sm*

Even the freedoms we seem to enjoy have been carefully regulated from "on high". Propaganda disguised as news in the mainstream media has manipulated the thoughts and opinions of many Americans for years. Corporations spend billions each year on advertising to ensure the perpetuation of Americans' obsession with gluttonous over-consumption, narcissistic worship of wealth and external beauty, and belief that amoral behemoths like Wal-Mart are benevolent pillars of " America 's values". The current regime keeps men like Scott McClellan on its payroll to lie with virtually each breath he draws. Through an ongoing propaganda blitzkrieg preying upon Americans' ill-founded fears, they have successfully leveraged 9/11 to gain the American public's consent to illegally invade Iraq and to shred the Constitution. What chance does the average American have to recognize the truth when they are bombarded with lies and propaganda from cradle to grave?

Weigh the fact that the public education system provides a white-washed version of history, leaving many Americans with limited awareness of the imperialism, cruelty, genocide, and state terrorism perpetrated by our government for many years. This same educational system emphasizes rote learning over the development of critical thought. The abhorrent No Child Left Behind Act virtually forces teachers to abandon nurturing their students' analytical capacities as they drill them in preparation to do well on tests (for fear of the punitive measures imposed on schools whose students do not perform well). Automaton thinkers serve the American Empire quite well, and those skeptics who occasionally slip through are quickly discredited as "anti-American liberals", "Communists", or more recently, as "supporters of terrorists".

You know, it always seems to be the liberals who name-call and throw out crap to see if it will stick. I have not read one single post by a liberal who has an intelligent thing to say. No liberal posts that give real, concrete suggestions for how they would change things. It's easy to say "get the US out of Iraq" but where are their suggestions for how the USA will be safe???
