Apparently the EPA thinks global warming is being caused by man. Some of the solutions they offer on the site seem pretty lame, however.
Decades ago CO1 was the big culprit, now it's CO2. According to the EPA, 50% of the CO2 emissions come from electric generating plants. Only a third comes from transportation. Why isn't more attention focused on electric generation?
Also, why isn't reforestation being discussed? Unlike CO1, CO2 can be filtered by plants. The EPA wants us to change light bulbs in our house. Why not plant a few trees in the yard?
Why not plant trees in the thousands of miles of highway medium across the country? I mean, what's more important, a cop being able to zap you with radar in the opposite lane or climate shift?
Why not reclaim all the abandon property in the inner cities and either reforest it or redevelop it for new housing, rather than urban sprawl?
Why don't industry go to a 10 hour work day 4 days a week?

Who said that it was okay to kill people and that it wasn't cruel or unusual punishment? Was it the supreme court?

I read - over and over again - about the evils of Nancy Pelosi. I have even read that people are afraid of her power. Forgive me, but I guess I must be lost somewhere. I don't seem to have the same fear or loathing...and can't come up with a good reason to adopt such attitudes. I must be missing something. Can anyone explain her evils to me...without being partisan and simply bashing her and her position?

While I myself support my husband more than anybody, I wanted to know why there are people out there that don't think we are just as important as the man by us that wears the uniform. I still make GREAT sacrifices for our country. I am a mother of three that becomes mommy and daddy while he's deploys. Last time was Iraq. There is way more than meets the eye when it comes to a military wife. While not thanked enough I take GREAT pride in the job I do for the military and my country.

There's that argument that you have to have a license to do anything in America EXCEPT be a parent. Considering the importance of parenting, don't you think they should require one?

Gangster rap (NWA) first burst onto the scene when I was in high school. If I'm not mistaken it started around 1990.

Now all of a sudden people are outraged? Where the hell have you guys been for the last 17 years?!?

Frickin parrots see it on tv, so now they gotta harp on it too.

Yes, rappers say negative things that the rest of us could not get away with saying.

Yes, rappers degrade women in their lyrics and it's wrong.

Anyone remember '2 Live Crew'?

We've already had this revolution. You guys are only 17 years late to the party.

God Bless the USA
By:
Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

Looking into this for a friend. After you go through police academy, say at a community college that offers it, and after you pass all of the state exams, how do you go about getting a job as an actual officer? Is there recruiting involved? How long does it usually take to get hired? Are there people who never find jobs? Is it difficult to get hired into a desired city? Are the only guaranteed cities that hire major metro areas (i.e. Detroit)? Are there any good jobs for people with only community college training, or do all of the "good" positions go to four year college grads? Please no guesses. I'm trying to find real answers. Feel free to add anything helpful, specifically if you or someone close to you has been through the process. Thanks.

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - If people found radio host Don Imus' comments about the Rutger's women's basketball team offensive, why are people at South Carolina State University lining up to hear similar words from rap artists?

In one song from a performer at Friday's concert, the n-word is used more than 100 times.
WIS asked students at on campus about the concert and the lyrics. One student, Kendra Johnson, says, "The radio host was out of line when he said it. Some rap artists may be out of line, but they don't mean no harm."

Student Justin Miller says, "There's always a time and place for everything. With hip hop music that's a certain situation where those remarks can be used, but on public radio station pointed to a particular group it's not proper."

One of the performers at the concert was Crime Mob. Their video, "Rock Yo Hips" is set on a fictional campus, Crime Mob university. That's where they depict women as strippers saying, "After she dance on that pole, I pull my cash so quick and fast."

We are either in it to win it or not. American troops will die as a result of this hesitation. It isn't their job to dictate foreign policy. Either fund it or pull out either way I'd support our nation in an effort to save lives. But they must unite either way. If they defund it Bush would have to pull out and do it in a way to save as many lives as possible. If they do fund it they must fund it in a fasion that would make it most likely that we will win.

one way or the other what Congress is doing right now is wrong.
