A lot of people are racist and democrat, including Robert Byrd, Democrat of West Virginia, former KKK recruiter and apologist, as recently as 2001, for spewing the "n" word.
How should blacks be?
Nice try, troll. Culture is culture.
And all cultures have a right to exist and be praised, or ostracized.

It's hard to take you seriously, since you make the false implication that half the country is racist, and only Republicans at that. I'd suggest you look up who voted for and against the Civil Rights Act by party, for example. You'll find a lot more Democrats then Republicans that voted against it. If you want to ask a serious question, don't load it with political crap and baiting. It would be in such an environment that racial reconciliation could truly take place.

It amazes me how naive so many folks are when it comes to black/white relations and the political parties. If Republicans are so racist, why are the most successful blacks in society Republicans? How come the highest ranking blacks in the American government have been Republican? Liberal programs like Affirmative Action, school desegregation and so forth are in place because Liberals don't believe blacks are capable of achieving parity on their own- they need the help of white Liberals. Does that sound like they believe blacks are equal to them?
Never the less, regarding your comment, blacks should be however they want to be. However, if their choices include having children out of wedlock, degrading women, joining gangs, dropping out of school, not speaking proper english, etc. they shouldn't complain when their actions result in them being economically disadvantaged. Anyone with common sense knows you need an education to have a good job (meaning, stay in school) and you don't have kids until you can afford to support them. The most successful blacks in society today know this and behave accordingly (even if people like Al Sharpton call them "acting white").
The moral of the story: No matter what your race, you don't have to fully assimilate into a culture to be an American, but if you want to be successful, you ought to think about it. That's not racist because it affects whites just as much as it affects blacks, hispanics, Indians or Asians; it's called complying with social norms. Hopefully you'll figure out how to "play the game" before you get too far behind.

The tone of your question is racist; you imply that all racists are republicans, which is blatantly false.
Is Robert Byrd a Republican? Yet, he used the "n word" and Democrats said nothing. David Duke ran as a Republican and was told to take a leap from the party, and most of his voters were poor, white Democrats. So what is your point?
The fact is that the Republican party likes to think of America not in racial terms but rather in terms of what is best for "Americans". Why must race factor into the greatness of this country, considering that a great person can be of any "race" but in the end, they are a member of the human race. How can we form a colorblind society (the goal of the great Martin Luther King) when we are constantly dividing ourselves by such silly criteria?
How should blacks be? They should be as all Americans, free to the pursuit of happiness just as all of us are.

How should they be what? People are people regardless of what color skin is. My husband is black and I am racially mixed and it is no big deal to us. I would rather someone see us as people....not just colors. It is not a perfect world and it will never be. There will always be some fool with too much mouth and too little intellect and racism will raise it's ugly head. Just be yourself and don't worry about should and shouldn't. Treat everybody, regardless of color, sex or religion, with tolerance and respect. We do just fine and we usually get the same tolerance and respect shown to us. Lot of people can be racist but a lot more of them are good and decent people that are as appalled by racism as you are. Be an individual and not a color. This is life, not a crayola box.

Do you really only think this is a republican issue? Do you think blacks should have more children out of wedlock than any other minority? Do you think that glamorizing gangs, killings, and robbery should be how blacks should be? Why is it after being this this country since the 1600's is there another language for blacks that has not a damn thing to do with Africa? Why after 40 years of preferential treatment are blacks still falling behind? At some point in time the black community needs to look at itself and its leadership and wonder why? Why is it that those that do make out and assimilate are chastised by their own? Just a few questions I had, perhaps you can shed some light other than "the white man held me down". That crap no longer flies.

That is a good quesiton. I think most stereotypes for blacks are from their own community. If someone who is black speaks well, graduates college, wears a suit everyday, and drives a Mercedes while living in an affluent neighborhood. Other blacks will call him a sell-out, call him white, ect. I have heard black people say Barack Obama doesn't know what it is really like to be black. Just because someone doesn't grow up in the "hood" doesn't mean they aren't black or face the challenges that come with it.
There should be no way that blacks "should be" each person needs to be their own identity, not what anyone, white or black thinks they should be. That is part of the problem, many blacks feel they need to keep their "blackness" or else they are betraying who they are when that is not the truth as long as you are true to yourself. It is one thing to act "black" when you are with your friends, at home, or hanging out, but when you are looking for job, or at work, act professional. I am a manager of an electronics store, I have black and white associates, all of them act professionaly at work. I have one guy who likes punk music, has peircings, and like to spike his hair, I don't let him do that at work, and if he was dressed like that when he applied he wouldn't be working her now. Same with blacks, I have had people come for interviews who were dressed "gangsta" I didn't hire them, not because they were black, but because they weren't professional. Wearing khakis or dress pants, and a button down shirt, or polo doesn't make you "white" it makes you professional, which people need to be if you are going to succeed.

Having trouble understanding your question.
However, there are a lot of issues people need to deal with. Prejudice is the core problem, racism is only one aspect of that. Putting racists and republicans together is no different than putting blacks and crime together, or Jews and greed together. If you want to see a world where all people are viewed equally, perhaps you should start with yourself and recognize your own prejudices before pointing a finger at others.

First off, no one should differentiate themselves by color. You do this simply by posing this question. Manners, respect and tact are not specific to a race. If you act accordingly, the majority of the time, race will not be an issue to start with. It is only an issue if attention is called to it.
Opportunities in the US abound for all individuals to get out and make a good life.
In a perfect world, race is not issue. My world must be perfect, my parents taught me to judge a person on their individual merit, not race. Yes, I am white, I just wish black people would quit teaching their kids, 'it's tha man putting us down', the US owes us for slavery (did you ever stop to think what your life would have been like if your ancestors were not slaves - what kind of life is Aids, starvation, wars, genocide compared to what you have in the US).
Blacks need to quit making non-issues into race issues. Just like Barak Obama, he is banking on his black heritage while ignoring his white heritage. He could be a much more powerful candidate if he acted like he had both heritages instead of just the black one. To me, this lets me think that he thinks that blacks in America are not smart enough to vote for him because of his stance on political issues, he thins blacks in America are dumb enough to vote for him just because he is black.
