God Bless the USA
By:
Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

This isn't about whether you like country music or this Government at this place in time - Are you proud of America - YOUR home...YOUR country?

Its funny, you ask a simple question, it basically requires a yes or no answer, are you proud to be an American?? A simple question that still transpires so much hate from the left that its sickening...
I am proud to be an American, but, I'm ashamed to be part of the same Country that some of these people are from. Hate infestation belongs in Iraq, and if they're lucky one of our respected Military persons will thump them!

yes, and yes... With all of our faults, every other country has them too. I am blessed and proud to be an over taxed, American. With all that goes on, and no matter what others may say about us, I would not trade it for anything. America as a nation, is one of the first to lend a helping hand. I will die a proud American, and always look for what is good and right in America. If you look at anything long enough you will find faults with everything. We work hard, but are far from perfect. I say if you are not proud to Be here, then get out. No other Nation on earth takes care of it's people like we do. We have freedoms here that many other nations do not have. No we are not perfect, but show me a nation that is. The more we fight, the more we pull apart. If we would spend the time to come together to find solutions to these problems that we do have, the better off we will be for ourselves as a Nation, and the other nations around us.

What was the point of that?
To answer your question, I don't WHITEWASH or totally CONDEMN anything about my country or it's politicians. People here just like to paint with these 12" wide brushes; either white (good) or black (evil), depending on the particular comment/rant.
As far as the "pride" thing goes, I'm happy to be living in the USA, as opposed to the middle of the desert or up in Siberia. But my pride or gratitude doesn't mean that I just avert my eyes or cover my ears to things I don't like. Being a "proud" American doesn't mean we have to write a pass for everything a current administration tries to get away with.
But I really don't get caught up in all that nationalistic hoo-ha. I don't fly or wave flags. I don't attend 4th of July parades or fireworks displays because they don't "do" anything for me.
I think that if a person is a contributing member of society, if they have a measure of charity and benevolence, if they perform occasional acts of kindness or volunteer work, if they pay their taxes, and if they try contribute to the planet's "improvement", then they are a good citizen of whatever country they live in - not just good citizens of the USA.
They're good citizens of Planet Earth.

there is a lot extra to this difficulty than jobs, and human beings desirous to alter into human beings. whether some want to settle for it or no longer there are people who have not any pastime in any respect in ever transforming into electorate of the US,they're right here for the paycheck, era! and doubtless if we extremely want the hard paintings which may be appropriate. however the physique of recommendations featuring it incredibly should not be something I for one am arranged to settle for. because of the fact the immigrant of on the instant seems to have a feeling of entitlement that i hit upon repulsive, and upload to that people who think of they have not any reason to persist with our regulations because of the fact they sense it is Their u . s . a . whether we like it or no longer, and that i say seal the border. And if somebody needs to furnish me the speech approximately human beings coming right here for better lives, and insinuate that i do no longer understand,in actuality i'm the 2nd technology of my relatives born in this u . s . a .,i understand precisely what my existence could have been like had my relatives no longer made the choice to come lower back to usa,and that i'm grateful to be right here. and that's the minimum that we've a top to assume from people who come right here now technology after technology of Immigrants have geared up this into the suitable u . s . a . on the earth and residing right it is a privelage,no longer a top. And anybody who comes right here and disrespects each and everything that has been geared up might desire to be shown the door, and asked on no account to darken our doorstep lower back. advert

Yes, gave the use of my legs in service to this country (little commie charlie got them), I am still proud of it and would fight for it again with my dying breath.
I do have a hate. My grandfather died fighting Nazis(socialists), my father died fighting Korean communism. I HATE COMMUNISTS. Sorry for the bias, but is heart felt.
I am saddened by the laziness of Americans, the ones who want something for nothing, that sell their votes to the biggest liar, but I am going to do something to change it.
Vote against ALL multi-term incumbents in the corrupt CONGRESS, does this until they vote yea on a Term Limit amendment. That is what I am going to do.

I love this song and I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it. I was in Vegas a couple of years ago and they do a water show in front of the Belagio. They did it to this song and my husband and I were watching it while crying. It was wonderful.
Land of the free BECAUSE of the Brave!
God Bless the United States of America!!!

I'm proud to be an American. This is a good song which strikes an emotional chord but no where in it does it mention the constitution that has endured for over 200 years. Admiration of what the founding fathers accomplished and how it has endured is what makes me proud to be an American. We owe it to them to keep defending it.

Yes America is a great place, but Americans dont really know what freedom is. When I lived there I certainly looked around and thought, these people arent free!!!! And it isnt the home of the Brave, Ididnt see many brave people when I was there. What do you call brave? Marching into Baghdad and other places shooting whoever you like? America has never won a single war in the history of their country. Take a look around, your biggest war is outside your 7-eleven's, you see those guys on drugs, selling crack, hussling, digging through trash bins? There is your war!!! And people killing each other because you took their car park. Yeah right, the real home of the brave. There are lots of wonderful people is the USA, but I think you guys better start teaching geography and other interesting topics in school to your kids. Otherwise we will just keep seeing more crap like BlackHawk down on TV.

Well, I guess we can be sure that you are PROUD, PROUD, PROUD! I'm glad to be an American, but pride goes before the fall, so I'll just be glad and thankful. Freedom is something easy to loose, so I want to thank those who fight for us to keep it every day. If there were no brave Americans, there would be no America.
