70% of Americans are against the Iraq war.

So according to the retarded logic of the mentally ill con. America hates Ameirca and wants the terrorists to win.

If in the feeble mind of the conservative, only far leftist commie libs are anti-war, then the GOP will lose every election for the next generation.

Republicans really are fuçking stupid and buy into their own debunked propaganda!

We know who the drug-dealers are, we know who the gun-toters are, we know who the burglars are and the auto-thieves in our communities. So why can't we take the laws into our own hands. It seems the police can't do much. The laws protect the criminals more than it does the victims. If there was a vigilante group in my community, I would be very tempted to join. PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME THAT RHETORIC ABOUT ME BEING AS BAD AS THE CRIMINALS BS.

As a republican, I honestly believe in the core values of the GOP. But I find myself increasingly distanced from what the current administration's platform has seemed to become. Following 8 long years of Clinton's shenanigans, the promise was to curb government, bring ethics and honesty back to Washington, and be an administration both parties could relate to and be proud of. Now, 6 years later, I feel like the administration feels like it is above the law, it's cabinet members and appointees are being called on the carpet for illegal and unethical activities, civil liberties are being restricted, spending FAR outstrips the budget, government is GROWING, and benefits are being reduced. (Geez I feel like a doggone Lib, somebody smack me!!) But I feel like the administration has followed its own selfish goals, ¬ the ones of the GOP. My question (I guess) is: does any other card-carrrying member of the GOP feel likewise, or did I step onto the short bus somewhere along the line?

I watched it, and now I'm in utter shock. I don't know who to trust anymore. Can we save our democracy? Or is this nation already dead?

Are there any military guys out there? My boyfriend is in the army and they went on a important exercise (where they use live ammunition). He told me that the exercise would only last 7 days and that he would call me the minute he got back. There weren't allowed to take their mobiles with them. 3 days later and I haven't heard anything from him. His mother called me earlier and asked if I heard anything from him. So his mother is also worried. Do you think he could be dead?? I am really worried!

The only GOP president to ever win a war was Lincoln and he was a liberal and that was 140 years ago!

Cons will bring up Bush sr and the GUlf war. That was such a success that we had to do it twice!

COns will lie and say it was Reagan and Reagan alone that won the cold war. That is beyond ignorant! 70 years of bad economics destroyed the USSR and the Pope & Lech Welessa had more to do with it than Reagan.

Now we have the modern conservatives losing two wars and begging for a 3rd in Iran.

Why are conservatives such total and complete failures in war?

Power: He reigned for 30 years and started two wars - Iran (1980) and Kuwait (1990).

Iran War: Was backed by the US, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and France.

Chemical Weapons: He gassed the Kurds and Iranians in the 1980's, during US support, and the US provided him the satellite imagery he needed to do so. (The US used fire and nuclear bombs against Japanese civilians).

WMD: There were none, and when he DID have them in the Gulf war, he didnt use them against the US.

Nuclear Arsenal: The US was able to wage Desert Storm II against a nuclear armed Saddam without nuclear war.

AL Quaeda - No link, except that Bin Laden is a radical fundamentalist who detests secular leaders like Saddam.

Killing Babies: Nayirah, the girl who testified to babies being torn out of incubators in Kuwait by Saddams army, turned out to be the daughter of a US Kuwaiti ambassador and grew up in New York City.

Was Saddam Evil? Irrational? Could he have been contained?

prison overcrowding is a ridiculous problem that we shouldnt have in the first place. we have too many laws criminalizing too many things, while truely dangerous things are legal. like we control firearms because of acts bad people make...like school shootings, yet we do not control who becomes parents...who sometimes produce bad people, and nothing changes. criminals are criminals because they DONT FOLLOW THE LAW. duh, laws arent the answer.
we prosecute the guy smokin a j in his living room, not harming anyone...while abusive spouses and parents can get a 12 or 6 pack anytime.
we prosecute the 17 yr old drug dealer and send him to jail for 10 yrs....rather than fixing the environment that forced him into it in the first place.
thank you for reading my tirade....theres more, but im done typing. thoughts?

forgot that he was carrying Webbs gun. The story is NOT unusual --a similar incident happened to a police officer friend of mine. (Although if I were asked to carry someone's gun--I think I'd make sure it was NOT loaded!--but that is just me). I think the whole thing stinks.

That being said, if a democratic aide can forget about a LOADED handgun in such a short period of time........why is it NOT believable that a republican does not remember verbatim, a conversation that took place months ago?

There is no doubt in my mind that it is globalization. I don't intend to leave this world knowing that my children will live in a feudalistic world. If you think I'm being an alarmist consider that 80% of the wealth of this country is controlled by only 130,000 people. The wealth of the world is under the control of a number of people who wouldn't even populate a small city.
People all over the globe are suffering the effects of loans made by the World Bank. Feudalism is the future. And that is something that I will go to war to prevent.

During the pre civil war years slavery was "justified" because it kept the cost down on the agricultural products that slaves produced. Afterall, hiring paid workers would have driven up the price of cotton and other such products. It seems that illegal immigration in California is justified because their low wages keep the cost of oranges down. Those who support illegal immigration for no other reason than keeping the cost of agricultural produce and gardening work low are no different than the consumers who demaned low cost cotton during the slave era.
