To me is harassment & racist. I have Mexican friends & I am white. Mexico is not the ONLY country that cross the border. Example like Cuba,Russians,Middle Eastern,BRITISH,Chinese,Koreans, & friends from the north which is Canada. Why not them???

It's been waged since 1914, more offficially since Nixon created the DEA in the early 70's. Yet drugs are still widely available. The lesson of prohibition is that if there is a societal demand, making it illegal emboldens criminal enterprise. Just because someone writes a law doesn't mean it's going to change thousands of years of human behavior.
Furthermore we currently have the world's largest prison population, more than China. A lot of those cases involve drugs. Does that say anything to you? Maybe we should try treatment facilities instead of bars. They also used to incarcerate the mentally ill, was that appropriate?
Laws not followed by the population are bad laws.

Ok, those who still are war supporters, not to be confused with troop supporters because there is a difference between supporting your troops and supporting a war, say that we are doing a great job in Iraq and that the media only picks up the small amount of bad things going on there. As far as these war supporters are concerned we have turned Iraq into a Utopian society and all is well. They say the media takes one occurrence, such as an insurgent killing civilians and soldiers in a early stage of a civil war, and make it bigger then it really is.They say we have things under control. They say we have brought peace to Iraq. They say we have brought American democracy and freedom.

Ok.Let us assume they are the ones who are right and not the media.Knowing what they
seem to know since they know more then the media, would you go live in Iraq for a year as a civilian?Would you live in an Iraqi neighborhood where everyone there knew you were an American that was living there?

What does the future hold for Africans with the historic Sino-American [East-West] international rivalry and the most alarmingly competition not for the peoples’ welfare but the 1/3 of world resources in Africa?
A pointer to Africa's future is the Sino-American environmental issues on one hand and the ethnic minority relations of these countries on the other.
One is therefore moved to ask, would African aborigines be glorified economic slaves or be systematically DELETED to create unlimited access for new owners to resources?
Even if we can overcome these two challenges, the world would still need a Sino-American Peace?
Could Africa also possibly define their collective Manifest Destiny in the conscious efforts to address these issues?

My boyfriend, years ago worked at two different shops in the same chain of shops. One was in a poor area, and then he filled in and eventually got transferred to the one in a rich area...same city. The difference was, in the shop on the rich side of town they would give all of their customers discount cards for cheaper rates on services that they could use each time they came in. On the poor side of town, there was no such card and everyone was charged regular price. It seems like it should be the other way around, or at least the same across the board, don't you? Why is the world like that, even in little ways like this?

I noticed through some light studies that Vietnam was a war that began for very similar reasons to the Iraq war -- and although three different presidents thought there was no way to "win" in Vietnam, none of those three could find a plausible exit strategy... and the "plan" that Nixon came up with in 1971 and was *supposed to be enacted involved a "coalition government" (in his words) and a staged withdrawal of troops...
Also, all of the campaign speeches from 1962-72 could very well be the exact same speeches we hear today, with the word "communism" replaced with "terrorism" and the word "Kruschev" with "Bin Laden" or "Achmibenijad"...

In Iraq, we have similar circumstances, but I am wondering how similar?
I am not asking this to incite some kind of political debate! I am offering no opinion on the war, and I'm only interested in historical similarities like the ones I've identified above.

Just trying to spark a discussion on the matter.

What is politics all about today?

What is the REAL reason people are going into politics today?

Is it TRULY to represent “their communities”, communities that live in a constant state of fear from the influence of the mass media reports?

During the Northern Ireland conflict 1969 - …….. “prisoners of war” status was sanctioned by the Govt, and those same prisoners had a say in the rights of such prisoner status.

Therefore, will Ulster stand a chance of becoming “prisoner of war” years down the line again when the pot runs dry and they want more?.. After all, those tactics have won once, so what’s to stop it happening again?

What happened to the old adage, “we never give in to blackmail or terrorists”?…

Exactly what definition did Gordon Brown put on the £1-BILLION “bonus “ QUOTE “ Chancellor Gordon Brown has promised Northern Ireland an extra £1bn if devolution is restored on Monday.” UNQUOTE http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/6477881.stm when he made that “pledge”?

The whole concept of the Northern Ireland power-sharing Assembly is fascinating not least when they come to allocate funds to various departments. For instance.. - With the Catholics dead set against abortions, how will that reflect in the Northern Ireland National Health Service funding? A lot of Irish women travel to UK - which still includes Northern Ireland inspite of devolution - in order to get abortions - much to the concerns of many SF members and their constituents - whom they are supposed to represent….Will these politicians elected to the Assembly condone selling their Faith by authorising money for the NHS.. OR.. Will we end up losing the NHS here in Northern Ireland as it stands at the moment?

So will the mindset on the day when the new “power-sharing” Assembly sit down to discuss the Health Budget be “Why should we allow £4.5-Billion (or whatever the figure might be for Health) for abortions to take place in Northern Ireland? (aka UK)

Will the British Govt CONTINUE to put money into the pot for the power-sharing Govt of Northern Ireland to make sure it remains in Stormont?.. Or am I the only person cynical enough to think that money was not a major factor in getting Ian Paisley to sell the people of Ulster out, after 35+ YEARS of saying NO! NO! NO!… NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!? I don’t even hear him referring to Sinn Fein as “Sinn Fein IRA” anymore…? Has the man been “turned”?
We thought Maggie made a huge U-turn when the people revolted against her attempt at the Poll Tax, but this …”historic day” on Monday 26th March 2007.. There are no adjectives to describe… or explain?
What are the British Government getting out of this deal? They gave the Ulster people a lollipop by delaying Water rates by 12 months, then gave £35-BILLION (over a 4 year period) PLUS a £1-BILLION “bonus” if devolution restarted in Stormont on Monday 26th March 2007 !

My boyfriend got pulled over in a school zone and got a $300 speeding ticket, but he swears the school zone light was not flashing. He made a court date to fight the ticket, but my brother in law said it will be his word over the cops and the judge will most likely side w/ the cop. So he said that my bf should plead "no contest", as it's kind of a loop hole and if the judge is nice he'll say, "no points, pay the ticket". so my first question is: can you even plead no contest for a ticket you, yourself elected to take to court? and my second question is: wouldnt it be easier to just take the online traffic school for $20 so he doesnt get any points, and just pay the ticket? because i told him he should just cancel the court date and do it that way, but he seems to think court is better. any advice?

Grown men with YEARS of combat service under their belts have been reduced to quivering wrecks from PTSD after the sights and sounds they have seen - mass graves, decapitated bodies, children blown to bits, and yet, our GOVERNMENT ADMITS they have sent Children into battle.. No matter how brave that youngster may be, no matter how much that youngster wants to be with his mater in the heat of battle, the FACT remains he/she is NOT mentally or psychologically prepared for such a role.. And Officers and junior Officers are NOT educated enough to recognise emerging psychological problems. Proper screening and assessment at recruitment office should be done

Please do not say “by the cross of St Patrick” because he was Welsh !!!

Does the Union Jack NEED to be modernised to reflect the 21st Century “united” Kingdom, given Scotland, Wales and, all being well, Northern Ireland all have their own National Assemblies to govern their own Countries?

What sort of flag do you think would be a more representative flag for “united” Kingdom today? Describe it?

For me, I came across a BRILLIANT image of a more true representative flag for United Kingdom of today… and tomorrow… http://www.geocities.com/bfpoonline/ni.html?1174996650696

Wales is properly represented, as is Scotland, Ulster - even England St George Cross is there, as is The Crown - which we all serve under.

Welsh soldiers serve under the crown and are repatriated under the Union Jack, yet WHERE is Wales represented in the National flag?

I enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves early in 2004. I've served about 3 years of very honorable service, No drugs, 1st class PFT, Expert Rifleman, meritorious promotions, volunteer for Katrina, etc. I am 21 years old, have a great job which enabled me to buy my first house, buy me a nice truck, and my new wife a new car. I am also a Volunteer Firefighter... My point is Im not a scumbag in any way. My unit is very unresponsible, always trying to screw things up, dont care about anything, and just party all the time. That is not me in any way and I just do not fit with these guys. I want out, and want out now.

I was told the past drill I had a UA from last year that I never made up, which I take as meaning that if that happens you have an unsatisfactory year which leads to an Other than Honorable Discharge- Im not sure tho. I told my Gunny I might as well just walk out if I get the same discharge as I will get at the end of my contract.
Is there any way I can a General Discharge?
