Yes, they should tell more of the good coming from it. I think it would make a big difference.

I think the media has played a part in how people feel about the war- a big part. But I also see a lot people forming their opposition about the war based on other factors such as the cost, causalities, how our servicemen and women are treated when they come home wounded needing medical help, and the fact that the war has lasted longer then WW2 in a country no bigger then Texas. So, I think people oppose the war after looking at everything. But, yes, the media certainly plays a huge part. When all you see is the negative then all you know about is the negative. But then, the negative does seem to be a lot bigger then the positive.

Absolutely, I also have friends and family serving in Iraq, and they say the media reports are nothing like what is really going on. I also have a friend that is an Iraqi Shitte living near Baghdad. She doesn't understand why Americans have not wiped out the insurgents. She says the politicians in America cause many American soldiers deaths with their rules of engagement. Politicians once they have declared a war, should let the military run it, and keep the news out of it, until they can report it objectively and honestly.

the media/print press are business yet they are afforded the protection s of the press.
Since there is no oversight or even a specific definition a pres/media organization, outfits that print/broadcast false info should be designated as info commercials,or paid programming and or specialty magazines/ paper publications such as the scandal p[apers, (i. Hollywood insider, the inquirer etc
A news paper must be required to verify and NAME/Print all sources, and .the exact statement in quotes.
A parsed version or a interpretation of what was said is not news ..its just a opinion or a reinterpretation of a statement based on the intent or ideology of the reporter..
Papers /media that report false info or fail to report information should be subject to civil and criminal litigation...
the new york times is no linger a news source as they employ individuals that are required to promote a specific outlook or bias...the employees who wish to retain their job comply with the owners/bosses demands that certain facts are not newsworthy or allow creations based on a reputable;le unnamed high official source...
This is not news its political propaganda....

Don't discount that the reality of the war might have raised some opposition too.

What did it for me was comparing the amount of US deaths to that of civilians in Iraq.
