This board needs more fun. I say that saying yes to the man might result in temporary monetary gain, but ultimately you lose more than you gain. What do you think?

Lets say hypothetically that Hillary wins the presidency and she decides to run w/ Bill. If Hilary died, then would Pelosi or whoever is the speaker of the house just take over? Why is noone talking about Bill Clinton as a vice? I think he legally can be one if he wants to, but maybe not?

WWII was a mass murder of humanity. Upwards of 20 million Soviets were killed - 1 out 0f 10. Poles, 1 out of 6.

The Japanese run Holocaust killed many millions of Chinese. The Japanese even dropped biological bombs on helpless Chinese villagers.

Just as many non-Jews as Jews went to the German concentration camps. With no regret, Germans burned Catholics, Protestants, Athiests, Jews, homosexuals abd the infirm.

Yet when discussing WWII, it seems only the suffering of the Jews is discussed. Yes, they suffered unjustly and terribly but so did 54 million others.

Why are most of the victims of WWII are forgotten?

What do you expect the GOP will do (or what do you want them to do) in their bid for the 2008 presidential race? What sort of global strategies do you think they'll employ? Whom do you think will have the largest support from the base? Do you expect a smear campaign or a positive campaign? One of hope or one of fear? Will that vary by candidate and/or by opponent? What do you think?

(NOTE: When I asked "what do you think", I used the word "think", not "feel". Opinions driven by emotion are nice, but opinions driven by facts are much better. Please avoid partisanship and augmentum ad hominem. Thanks.)

I had to leave him this month because he's a crazy drunk and we have a one year old daughter. I am in Iowa with family and he was in Washington where we were stationed. He is supposed to deploy in april and I think he has gone AWOL and is headed here to Iowa right now. I am very afraid, what do I do if he shows up and I know he's AWOL? I don't want to let him in my parents' house, and he sure as hell can't take my daughter anwhere. Can I call the police? His NCO? What the hell do I do?!

That shouldn't be the issue. What neither side can disagree with is the links between mercury and fossil fuels to cancer in humans. Obviously nobody can argue that the trash being put in the air is harmful to humans and the environment, but as long as everyone is focused on global warming, nothing will be done about it. It will be debated for years along with illegal immigration, abortion and so many other things that aren't being solved but are being used solely for political agendas, and the people are being used with them.

It is a political term, nothing more.

A new report says Welfare State Growing Despite Overhauls.
First, Bush blames the people on welfare themselves. "What many people on TANF need first is the confidence that they can succeed in the workplace and to develop the habits of work," said Wade Horn, the Bush administration's point man on welfare overhaul.
Horn noted that employment among poor single mothers was up and child poverty rates were down since the welfare changes in 1996, though the numbers have worsened since the start of the decade after Bush took office.

Why is the welfare caseload growing?

Do we blame ourselves for our low achievement or has the government failed us?
Have the business interests themselves failed us?
Have the skools failed us?
Is society breaking down completely?

Leftists do tend to stick together. I suppose it should be no surprise that Cuban acting president Raul Castro has expressed his admiration for Gore and his "documentary". I'm sure if there were telecommunications serving the cave in which Osama bin Laden is hiding, he'd be sending his love to Gore as well.

My friends husband's income income taxes goes to the state of Texas for back child support. He payes every week on his child support both children are over 18. But he owes back child support. This family is already on a limited income. He payes almost 200 a week and then also every year the state of Texas takes his income tax return and this family really could use the refund money. They have a 9 year old from her pervious marriage and they have a 7 month old. She has not been able to find work. This family is really in need. Im not saying that he shouldn't pay but I don't think his new family should suffer either.

"Sure, if you want to start World War III. But if you'd rather do the more challenging thing and trying to defuse the situation peacefully, then the answer is no. I think that if they want nuclear energy that's fine, but the moment they use it against other people then they are fair game for military action."

"No. They are at least 5 years from having a nuclear bomb."

"In light of Israel refusal to abandon its nuclear program should Iran and many other nations have the same right to have nuclear program too be fair man."

I have seen some people copy and paste "damning" evidence from Wikipedia that Al Gore claims to have invented the Internet the past few days, yet the stuff they copy clearly states that Al Gore said he "took the initiative in creating the Internet".
Is the bias so thick that they can't tell the difference between "inventing" something and "taking the initiative to create" something?
The Internet is something that was a project that was a cummulative effort, no one person invented it. If Gore was responsible for legislation that provided that project with funds, doesn't he have the right to take credit for it?
