How come is it that U.S. born minorities (i.e. blacks, hispanics, asians) want to be called by their nationality? For example, black people like to be called African-Americans, hispanics like to be called Latin-Americans, Asians like to be called Asian-Americans, etc., even if they were born in the U.S. If they were born in the U.S., wouldn't that make them an American? I don't go by a French-American because I was born in America, not France. Why is it that U.S. born minorities need to go by their nationalities instead of just plain American like white people do?

I was in a resteraunt and I heard these black people talking. They were saying how horrible the white people were for enslaving their ancestors. Here's where my question comes into play: aren't black people grateful that white people enslaved their ancestors? I mean sure, blacks suffered a lot for about three hundred years, but by white people bringing them to America, present black people have a better life than they would otherwise in Africa. For example, black people have a higher survival rate and access to all of America's benefits, where in Africa, there's a high chance you would be living in poverty and have AIDS. Was it worth your ancestors suffering to give you a better life than they had? This question is not meant to be offensive in anyway so please don't take it that way, I was just curious if any black people feel this way.

My cousin who's 20yrs old, just told me that he met some girl "at the airport." but after further investigation and snooping through his emails, his sister & i found out that he met this girl through the internet and he wired transferred money to her in order to buy a plane ticket to come here.... she arrived like 2 days ago and she's probably staying with him (he told me she was a foreign exchange student and she's studying at Duke, which is all a lie!) Then i found a site that has the EXACT same pic of her "passport" that she sent him... and it turns out this was all a scam and she's probably going to try to steal money from him, who can i report this to? Immigration? US Marshalls? FBI?

Please help us with any info you can provide... we just don't know where to go with this.... we want to solve this problem before she actually steals $ from him or does worse!

ps: site with scam pics of passports: http://www.womenrussia.com/blacklist/images2/scammer481_4.jp

I want to ask question that child labor is ok or not?
I meant that when we can not give them food of atleast of two times, then how we can say that stop child labor. If we stop child labor then how can they find money for food?
then they become begger. And i think at that situation we will say that child labor was not bad as it is.
so for implement the "Stop Shild Labor",first we have to arrenge food and education for them.

I know one of the men that pulled Saddam from his hole. He was the one that dicovered the hole first. The government turned down his request for the reward. Do you think he deserves it?

There are so many MEDICINAL reasons to use it, so why is it still illegal? I can understand LARGE quantities, but why not have it available in pharmacies like other drugs? No there are not any documented cases of people dying from the drug... No, I have never tried it, but realistically there are many reasons to make it available to the people who need it.

Doesn't he deserve it more than anyone??

I mean, he pretty much defeated Bush in 2000 and had the Presidency taken from him by the Supreme Court.

He has the experience of having worked 8 years under one of the best Presidents we have ever had.

I've seen several people post one study that states that conservatives give more... but...

it doesn't really make any sense? the majority of conservatives I see on here, not only DON'T want to give to chairty, but basically seem to not care if poor people died?

yet, conservatives are the ones that give more to charity?

all I hear them say is "if they want it, work for it"... which I understand what they are saying, but I wouldn't think that person was exactly generous either?

and I know several conservatives and the majority of them seem to feel this way, not all... but most... maybe I just need to get out more?

I'm confused?

THis question came out of me and my friends just talking about random things.....ended up with a hypothetical situation
I'm muslim myself and am not choosing a military path in life, but i'm american born and if this country was under attack i'd feel the need to join up and defend it. I mean like someplace dropping bombs on us and acutal bringing in an invasion force.

My friends said that was a dumb idea, i'd probably get shot by our own troops. Had a friend too that was in Iraq and said i probably wouldn't fit in well. Was just wondering what other people in the armed forces thought.

Mitt Romney's Great Grandfather was a polygamist. So what? Why write an extensive article about previous generations of his family that practiced something that has been outlawed by the Mormon Church since before Romney was born? Romney is the only front runner for the Republican nomination to have had one wife (Giuliani has been married 3 times, McCain twice).

So my question is...Is this news or just an attempt at smearing the name of a Republican candidate?
