oh my what would we do without our fearless, great leaders?
like bush, cheney, rice, directors of all amazing protective agencies, who have giant staffs and giant budgets? what
would happen? anything? would we suddenly become the
united states of allah? united states of africa? union of soviet
america? or would we just all go out and buy a chevrolet
and call it just another day, planning on seeing the u.s.a. in our
chevrolet?

Alright so since Middle School both my parents knew I wanted to go into the Military; but thought I would go through college in ROTC or NROTC or something along those lines. My mom is totally against anything to do w/ me in the Military, but my dad's view on it is; if it gives me a civilian equivelant skill then he'd support me.

Im a Junior in High School and am about to go into the DEP (Delayed Entry, so I go to Boot and AIT after I graduate). Im enlisting in the Marines as Machine Gunner (0351). I dont need my parents permission, but their support; Im doing it either way. But how do I get them on my side?

These people are so stupid you would think they were raised in Afganistan or some other Islamic country.

This guy describes Family Guy as liberal propaganda. I don't understand it... Family Guy makes jokes about the TV. The I in "Family" is dotted with a TV in the opening credits. Now if he said American Dad, I might understand, but Family Guy?

Anyone else feel this way? Would you like to explain it to me?

Aircarft carriers and so forth on the way - Assertions of Iran and the Irainian government killing US soldiers - The nuclear show down etc .

Bush is going to war in Iran and likely with help and soon -

It is very obvious although he has been careful not to announce it .

I believe he will not announce it because he knows that it will be blocked and that he has zero credibility at home - He also knows that once the election comes his foriegn policy will be over and this war will force America into a war mentality and more or less his forign poicy for decades no matter who wins

I mean Republicans or Democrats; what's the difference? If the Republicans are hardliners, how could we justify Truman's bombing Japan with the A-bomb (although she was powerless), Johnson's dashing involvement in Vietnam and Clinton's constant bombardment of Iraq?

Do you really believe that America changes if the Democrats replaced the Republicans and vice versa?

I really have this feeling that a mysterious force or power is actually ruling America and dictating her policies worldwide. Do you believe that if the Democrats win, that America's going to pull out of Iraq, stop threatening Iran and North Korea,...etc?? I really don't think so.

Someone mailed me a letter to a previous address because he wanted me to call him and another person who lives at my previous address opened it, read it and called the phone number that was in the letter. The only way I even found out about it was that the person who mailed to letter found another way to contact me, called me and told me what happened. I still don't have the original letter. I feel violated. What should I do?

Seriously, this is just pathological. Any other topic on these boards, say sports, one person can think Williams was the best hitter, one can think DiMaggio, maybe someone else can think it was George Brett.

But you don't have people refusing to accept that Williams hit .406 in 1941 and you don't have people refusing to accept that George Brett won the batting title.

In every other area of discussion, the facts are accepted and people apply their values to the facts and get different conclusions, but the facts are accepted - if the facts alone refute your position you don't just "decide" not to "believe" them.

Maybe you feel that entry-level people should start out higher-paid and that people later on in their careers, making more, should have to give some of that back. Maybe you think immigrants should get more benefits.

If so, please ADMIT that most "low income people" are just starting out and won't be "low income" 10 or 12 years from now and then make your point!

They sure do......30% more. I was a little surprised by this. Also, Mississippi (one of the most conservative states) donates more money to charity (on average) than any other state......and, it's the poorest state in the union.

Are you moderates surprised by this?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Is there anything in this statement to imply that it is necessary for those Arms to be kept by a well regulated Militia? Or is it simply an explanation of what this rule is doing in the Constitution, but that the right of ANYONE to keep or bear arms shall not be infringed?

I realize the definition of "infringed" is more applicable to current law... so feel free to define that as well.

The President, the Republicans, and some Democrats say that it is necessary to get rid of our civil liberties in order to fight the terrorists. Isn't this why they attacked us in the first place? To take away our freedoms?

OK there are FACTS on this. DATA. And it COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY REFUTES the class warfare argument.

There are NOT facts that support it - the Libs take data that shows that while entry-level workers make only 5-10% more in real income than was the case a generation ago, people at the height of their careers make a lot more, and they misrepresent this as a difference between two permanent groups. It's been the same MO since the 1980s and it's just as misleading now as it was then.
