I listened to Mr. Bush's press conference today. To me, he talks to us like we are stupid children who just dont understand what 'dad' is trying to say. Does anyone see it the same way?

He only speaks that way because he thinks he is smarter than the rest of us. Now, who's the joke on?

He's talking to the people who voted for him, mostly from red states, who need to be told things in the simplest way or else they don't understand anything. That's why red staters hate Democrats. The talk way to fancy for them and they don't understand what they are saying. Bush actually does a good job of communicating with them the problem is he never says anything that means anything.

BINGO! You hit the nail on the head. And why don't they let some good ol' American public in there to ask a few questions? Instead they just have a bunch of scared reporters afraid to ask any real questions. I like the way he wouldn't even go close to the Libby question. What a chicken shiit.

You must remember he is also talking to the press. Those who populate the press are by and large ignorant of anything outside of thier liberal echo chambers and by going slowly and not using large words Bush is hoping his message will be understood

No matter what he says...he looks, talks and acts like he's taking orders from Cheney, i.e., "That's the story George, now go out and convince the public."

I think he talks to us like HE is dumb. He probably has people explaining his own policies to him in very simple English so that he can understand them. Then he parrots the words they've used to explain it to him.

Apparently his supporters ARE that dumb. They believe everything he says. So, I guess he knows how to talk to them on their level. This is not meant to be an insult.....just facts as I see them.

Yes, that is exactly what he thinks, and he's been addressing the nation like that since he took office in 2001. I suppose some people buy, but I sure don't.
