A close friend is being repeatedly threatened by an ominous pit bull monster. Police involved and dog wardens. All official and video evidence obtained. Does CO2 gas work on dogs? The human form does for the police. Do you know? Thanks.

It would take alot of Co2 to do anything to a human or to a dog. And it would have to be in some kind of a closed unventilated area. Co2 displaces oxygen and can make you feel dizzy , naucious and uncomfortable or even cause you to loose unconsciousness.
I wouldn't use it as a form of defense, I would use mace or a taser. It might scare the dog for a moment, but nothing else.

i LOVE DOGS TOO, at the end of the day it is not the dogs fault, its the owners. I had many years ago several pit-bulls in my back garden and not for any reason only for breeding. I had the RSPCA inspecting the same and found no counts of cruelty or misharm. I loved my dogs and do not agree with dog-fighting and its a shame these dogs have been used for such a vile act when they are brilliant house pets both loyal and friendly if brought up correctly. I have bitten by a jack russell and a corgi so should the same rules apply to them. Its all about how they are looked after. Its not just pit bulls that attack.

If you kill the dog then you go to jail.... simple as that, you need to go though the channels properly and to not be behind bars for killing an animal. Some states are really strict about that.

I would agree with some of the other posts. I love Pit Bulls they can be the best dogs, those little yappy things bite more often, but just the way they look and such it is against the law, not the dogs fault. Maybe your friend should not walk near the pets territory.

CO2 will not do anything to the dog. He'd just carry on chewing on you.
Get in touch with the police and get the dog taken away. They are a danger to one and all - they are illegal in the UK so carry on saying to the police about it.
If you want to, be a scum bag back and say the dog jumped up at you as you went by, but make sure that the dog and owner were in at the time and not on holiday 75 miles away for 2 weeks!
Be sure of your facts and keep on plugging away at the police and local county council.
Good luck with your situation

What is he doing to the dog? The best way to not get bit, is to stay away. If the p[olice and dog wardens have not found a reason to take the animal, then your friend must be doing something. If a dog is aggressive you can tell and the professionals can tell. If it is reacting to ....say "teasing" or "taunting" then they will not see an aggressive animal. I would not try to spray the dog with anything. It is against the law and inhumane, unless being attacked. And again I say avoid the dog and its "territory".

will get you into more hot water than you can imagine. the PETA people live for folks with that type of logic. if you are gonna do an animal in, especially one thats being as watched as that one is, be careful, leave no evidence or witnesses behind, afterwards, keep your big sewer shut tight or it will suck you in to a vortex with no escape
