It doesn't matter what side of the fence(so to speak) you're on. It would be nice to just read(in your OWN words) how you really feel on the issue. Be as detailed as possible, but it must be IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Rosanna Pulido, Illinois spokesperson for You Don't Speak for Me, a national coalition of American Hispanics who oppose illegal immigration, states, "Actually Elvira Arellano is a testament to the utter failure of the Mexican government. Because of widespread corruption, the government of Mexico has consistently failed to provide economic opportunity to millions of Mexican people and encourages them to violate U.S. immigration laws. The Mexican government could care less about people like Ms. Arellano. What they are really here to protect is the $23 billion a year that the millions of Mexicans living in the U.S. send home to Mexico," Pulido charged.

We hear a lot lately about how America always goes to war for oil, and that it's ludicrous to think otherwise. People claim that the current Iraq War is "obviously" for the oil. However, since it was America that was the driving force behind banning Iraq oil exports from 1991 to 2003 (and could have easily gotten the sanctions lifted and bought cheap oil for as long as we wanted it - Saddam was dying to sell us oil), wouldn't it have been easier to just make a deal with Saddam to get the oil at a cheap price rather than spend a trillion dollars on it?

That being said, what wars besides the Iraq War, were fought over oil? And please state the basis for your belief and whether we did, in fact, steal the oil.

terrorism or would you blame it on the newly created safe haven for terrorists that we have created in Iraq? Although Sadaam is definetly not a sweetheart, he ran a secular government and did not tolerate or like religous extremism (he was strongly opposed to strict Islamic Sharia law, which is what Osama wants--they were polar opposites). Now we have a vacuum of power in Iraq which is being filled with radical Islam. Isn't that what we were trying to squelch in the first place? We didn't "stay the course" at all when attacking Iraq. Do you think we have destabalized the Middle East even more by our actions? And, um...what should we do about it?

My stepdaughter is going to be taking the test to become a cadet. If she passes, she will then begin undergoing background checks, etc. While she has no criminal record, she did get behind on some student loans and medical bills during a period of unemployment. As a result, her credit score isn't so good. Will this interfere with her being able to become a police officer? She is an honest person with a good character, and I would hate to see her career dreams squashed by some past financial mistakes.

I have heard major neoconservatives like Tom Friedman say things like "how can we credibly spread freedom abroad if we do not provide justice at home?"

He said this after Katrina, suggesting that hurricane relief would help justify more wars later.
