It doesn't matter what side of the fence(so to speak) you're on. It would be nice to just read(in your OWN words) how you really feel on the issue. Be as detailed as possible, but it must be IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

I'm upset by the disintegration of America. I immigrated here in the 70's and became a part of America, I've worked hard and believed in the dream. Well, the dream is dying, my country is no longer home of the free and the brave. It is home to other countries, other interests, other loyalties. What it is to be an American is going away, we are losing our identity, we are diluted by the profits of a few, we are let down by our government, the middle class is being destroyed, and nobody cares. This is a time of apathy. I want America to wake up. When you destroy working class America, you lose America. We are the backbone, you kill us, the dream is dead.

justanotherjoe - thanks for asking a good question, I feel better now

JJ - the melting pot is fine, the problem is that there is no longer assimilation, I think the current euphemism is a salad

Upset about?
Well, first of all, walk into any government public assistance agency and look around. What do you see? It is upsetting to Americans who are working hard trying to survive, trying to put food on their table, provide for their children. (WORKING) Americans who cant get the assistance that others get for doing nothing. It is isolated town by town, city by city incidents. Applying for a job, at a Major Distribution center in your small town, knowing you are more than qualified but not getting hired, then someone you know that works there tells you that the (Mexican) Human Resources manager hired 30 illegals to work there. Only found out because Immigration was called to check green cards. Its a problem to go to the store and the cashier can hardly speak English. Its a problem to have a home electronics issue cell phone, computer etc, and cant even get a English speaking person on the phone. Its a problem when my company hires someone who cant speak/read fluent English and something gets screwed up and I have to answer for it when I didn't hire the person in the first place.

The list is miles long.

What you all don't seem to understand is that Bussiness owners like illegal immigrants... all they have to do is pay them under the table and save paperwork and money. They are keeping them under wraps, and they like it that way. And the thing that is just ridiculous to hear is that "the immigrants are taking our jobs".. If you wanted to be a dishwasher, or a two-bit cook, (mostly the jobs illegals get) then I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem doing so. Any body who wants a job, and is competent enough can get one. The only thing holding them back is laziness or pickiness. And the illegal immigrants for the most part are not getting benefits b/c they are in hiding. If they are in hiding how is the govenment going to contact them to give benefits?? Its the lazy unemployed, lower class american's that milk the system, because they do NOTHING and expect money in return. At least the immigrants are working, or should i say SLAVING themselves for a better life... They tax payers are paying for their fellow citizens Welfare, before they are paying for an illegal. Why don't we see any of the American jobless/welfare people slaving themselves like some of the immigrants i see?? I'm sure that there would be much less poverty if the citizens got rid of their high and mighty mentality and worked their butts off, instead of complaing how the immigrants are taking their jobswhile they sit on their *** and milk the system and the tax-paying America.. The only problem I have is the driving without license/insurance issue.

I think the border's been mishandled for years, possibly even deliberately, we've heard 'open borders' rhetoric before, and it's resulted in a mess, for Canada, Mexico, and the United States,
and to my view, the answer is to secure the borders, and improve how immigration is handled. Do those things, and a lot of the problems will subside, because cross-border crime will be reduced, treaties can be honored, and commerce will be handled better, which will benefit all concerned.

Our southern states are worst afflicted by the effects of illegal immigration, it's been profitable for some, less profitable for others, but caused social problems in many areas, as well as serious problems in Mexico AND America due to crime. So, fix the borders, end the problems.
end the problems.

I am upset about employers hiring people illegally and little to nothing happening to them. I am upset about people giving their business to those that they KNOW hire illegally then later complaining about the problem. I am also upset about people wanting to give citizenship, amnesty and/or "guest worker" status to people who came here illegally and have been here a long time. This does not make it OK, this shows they have disregarded our laws for a longer period of time...being here illegally is still a violation of the law.

I am not opposed to immigration. I was born here, my husband was not. We are working our way thru the immigration system, but we are doing it legally. Yes, it is time consuming, yes, it can be costly and yes, it would be easier on us if he could work right now, but until his work permit comes in that is not going to happen. This is the sacrifice we knew we had to make to be together and live here. If we had decided to live overseas where he is from then I would have to go thru immigration processes there. Immigration and red tape are not unique to the US, people just seem to expect us to not enforce it. These are the things I am upset about.

White spanish blood rich Mexicans are encouraging their poor to come to the USA. They have the money and means to take care of their poor.Instead they want the USA to foot the bill and take care of their Mexican poor.
The majority of Illegals do not have computers and could care less what we are saying. The rich Mexicans have computers and they are reporting from Mexico. Read what they post they are pointing out the benefits of illegals in our country. They also encourage the learning of spanish in the USA.

When illegals get killed or injured in the USA, Mexicans send an official to check on the circumstances and even complain about the USA. If the rich Mexicans and the govt really cared about their poor why do they send them over here.

I am upset that laws are being broken. breaking one law is just as bad as breaking all the laws or why have a system in the first place. furthermore people are kidding themselves if they say that our economy and educational systems are not suffering as a result of the ciaos that is surrounding our boarders. it is not racist or wrong to say that these persons who break our laws should be deported. Also did you know that close to 20% of all criminals in our federal prisons are "non-legal" people. why should our taxes pay for others criminals when we could be paying to improve our own. while most of Americans are or come from immigrants whether first second or fifteenth generation, it is time to put a stop to our "melting pot" before all the water boils over and all that is left is a disastrous mess

how people just don't seem to care about the environment. people can be so mindlessly ignorant. they don't understand how important it is to look after the world. because this is what we're living in, this is our world, our ONLY world. we're not going to get a second chance. it's one thing being naive but a completly other (unacceptable) thing just not being bothered. People wont go and turn their standby lights off because three steps is too much to handle in their petrol-gussling lives. how people can't hold on to their rubbish until they reach a bin and just think oh someone else will pick it up! What angers me even more is people who think it's cool, i just don't understand it. people who litter NEXT to a bin! they deserve a good **cking slapping!!! sorry it just makes me mad! do people not understand that this is happening now!?

It bothers me that so many legal citizens cannot find jobs, yet we are illegally importing people to the U.S. because we need work done. How about we take care of our unemployment issues before we decide that we need to give jobs away to foreigners.

I am upset by the blatant disrespect of this nation and our nations flag.It makes me so angry to see people drag it in the streets as it was in LA yesterday. By people wearing masks, screaming insults, walking on the flag ,as they told Americans to kiss their azz. Watching theses people that hate America being protected by the LA police force was sickening to me.
There were many Mexican Americans, white and black Americans there in support of a Pardon for the two Border Patrol Agents Rally, also the Minute Men were there. But the police protected the anti American group of malcontents that were counter protesting with their Mexican flags.
That just one of the reasons I'm upset.
This is America, not Mexico, they need to go back to where this sort of thing is common, the masks etc.We are not afraid to show our faces here in the USA.
It is not racists to want this nation to be respected and honored. It is racists to come to this nation as an illegal alien and to demand we change for you.
