Officer cited me for going 73 in 55 mph zone. When he pulled me over and asked me how fast I was going, I answered 66 mph.

Since I already told him i think i was going 66, can I even fight this ticket in court?

I was'nt recklessley blazing through traffic.

Here's the scenario: I was in the left lane of a 3 lane highway. I was being tailgated real close, and i had 3 cars to in the center lane. I just wanted to speed and cross those 3 cars, and then move to center lane. Cop caught me during that speed burst.

you can go to court and usually when you do the fine will be reduced somewhat (depending ion your history). The officers most always show up for thier court dates. I'll let you in on something tho, these officers have to go to court on thier day off.
If you were exceeding the posted limit, but going with the flow of traffic then you need to tell the judge that you are guilty with an explaination. Going with the flow of traffic is the safe thing to do. But, on the other hand, if you were just plain in the wrong, pay the ticket and give the officer his day off. He was doing his job.

Sure, but remember what you said to the officer. That, of course, wasn't under oath, but it will certainly be used against you. But if for whatever reason you feel like you want to or can challengae the ticket (like you don't think the officer will show up, or that his equipment wasn't working and you really weren't gong 73, whatever) there's nothing to stop you. Just be prepared for a guilty verdict and the full fine PLUS court costs.

Since you stupidly exceeded the speed limit by 18 mph, and he clocked you at 73, and you admitted to66mph., don't you think you have said enough? Sounds cut and dried to me--exceed the speed limit---pay the price!

Show up in court & see if the cop shows up. If he doesn't, it will be dismissed...if he does, pay the fine before your court time. Otherwise, you'll lose anyway.
