Why can't africa spend billions of dollors over their budget to start helping the poor and dying up on their feet. And yet america can spend hundreds of billions on a war. When does debt of a country matter? Also why does a province like for ex: Alberta in Canada sit on 8 billion dollors, what do they do with it, isnt it insane?

I don't understand why America is so judgemental about how many military members we deploy overseas. If you don't wear a uniform or have a family member serving, what do you care? I'm a military wife and my husband is deployed and I'm proud of him every day. We're both willing to make this sacrifice for a cause we believe in and it doesn't affect you. It's a choice between us. We have a volunteer military. If you don't want to deploy, you don't have to enlist. And for those already in, you don't have to re-enlist. Life is tough sure, but we're proud of this mission. So again, I ask why do you care and how does it affect your daily life if want to win in Iraq?

In all honesty, I would have to give him a zero. I cannot imagine anyone being a worse President than he has been.

Two nights ago, myself and two girlfriends were driving home from a club. Suddenly this male pulled up beside us at a redlight, with nothing on his upper body except a black bra. He smiled and drove beside us for a few blocks and then turned. My Question is: at the time we found this amusing (he was cute...lol) and harmless. But as we drove further we second guessed ourselves. Should we have yelled at him or tried to get his license number for the cops? And further more, was he really breaking any laws? I mean it sounds stupid at first, but I don't know if there is a law that prevents men from wearing a bra. If we are wrong on the legal issue than maybe others will benefit from your responses.

The Bush administration thwarted the independent investigation for 18 months, what are they trying to hide...and why does it not bother very many people? Shouldn't they have worried less about covering their you know what and instead trying to find out what really happened so that a) the true masterminds could be brought to justice and b) something like that would never happen again?

Your thoughts?

I have found those who support the war always talk about dying as a necessary evil. There were no compassion for those who were displaced or killed by the war.

To start a war based on one person and results in tens of thousands being killed and millions being displaced and a country in turmoil, not to mention the financial burden on the US and destruction to Iraq, is in no way justified.

If oil was not the issue but freeing a nation is, then why isn't America invading N. Korea yet?

I want to be in the know when it comes to politics, but it seems like everyone has an agenda and everything is biased. I want to be ready for the next election period, and I want to make up my mind based on the facts and not based on how others feel. Any suggestions for books or websites? I don't plan on making this the focus of my life, but I want to know whats going on...

If an uninvited person went onto your property, you are allowed to kill him/her. So isn't a unwanted baby kinda the same thing or uninvited baby?

My enlistment in the Air National Guard is up in August. If there is no stop loss in effect, can they send me on a deployment that will go past the end of my enlistment date without me reenlisting? I guess that they can do anything they want, but it isnt a deployment to Iraq, but somewhere in the desert. Do you think they guard will do that?

At first I was shocked -- but now I say who cares. Did you know:

1. No country gives more money to poor countries every year?
2. No country accepts more of the worlds unwated poor immigrants?
3. No country has freed more people from tyranny -- including WWI, WWII, South Korea, East Europe, Afganistan, and now trying in iraq.
4. We have the power to take what we want but we dont. We want out of iraq, not in.
5. We are the first to provide disaster aid.
6. We gladly share our the worlds best universities with the worlds students.
7. We gladly let other countries join us in space.
8. We sholder the burden of the defense of most of the world -- including europe, the pacific rim, and much of the americas.
9. We provide the most food aid for africa.
10. no country spends more on AIDS research.

on and on. do you understand this? oh, right you hate the USA 'cuz we're trying to bring democracy to Iraq. right?

Isn't it irresponsible of them to be having kids?
Look at the African nations. They have a raging AIDS epidemic, widespread poverty and starvation yet for some reason they think "Hey, let's get pregnant!"

Also why do people think all Black people are Baptists? ha ha What about it folks? how about minding our own business with the religious stuff and stick to the issues and Leave God out of it? Isn't this a political site?

One only has to check out Bush's record as Governor of Texas to see his own preference for death over life. During his tenure as Governor, Bush presided over a record setting 152 executions, including the 1998 execution of fellow born-again Christian Karla Faye Tucker, a convicted murderer who later led a prison ministry. Forty of Bush's executions were carried out in 2000, the year the Bush presidential campaign was spotlighting their candidate's strong law enforcement record. The Washington Post's Richard Cohen reported in October 2000 that one of the execution chamber's "tie-down team" members, Fred Allen, had to prepare so many people for lethal injections during 2000, he quit his job in disgust.

Bush mocked Tucker's appeal for clemency. In an interview with Talk magazine, Bush imitated Tucker's appeal for him to spare her life - pursing his lips, squinting his eyes, and in a squeaky voice saying, "Please don't kill me."

It is obvious that the federal government is not doing the job . They are also tying the hands of states , because it is considered a federal issue . .There was a very good reason why the Constitution was such , allowing states rights . Obviously with the exception of slavery , I think that the South had it right fighting for states rights .

What Is A Billion?
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did
a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A billion days ago no one walked on the earth on two feet.
A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate the US
government is spending it.
