There's Not a Damn Thing They Can Do About Stopping the Troop Surge and Victory in Iraq, Iran, and Syria !!!!!!!

Although I'd rather they get on the same page with the rest of us.. . . there IS some solace in knowing that !!! Some people say Bush has nothing to lose by increasing troop levels, because he's leaving office anyway . WRONG !!!! If he's wrong, then the entire Republican Party will suffer dramatically and lose even more seats !! He would NEVER RISK that !!! He's got a Plan that he KNOWS will work, General Pellaeus AGREES and even though Henry Kissinger at first thought it wouldn't work.. . He now(after learning bits of it) says it WILL . Folks, there's always state secrets that NO president will reveal . Count this as one of those times !!

Taking that into consideration.. . . . Can some of you Liberals just 'cool it' for awhile and wait until ALL THE FACTS ARE IN ?????
Continuing to protest it will do you no good and will change NOTHING !!!!

If a citizen is on welfare and not contributing anything to society, should they be allowed to participate in the democratic process? Should voting be a reward for the people that actually do the right things and work hard/stay out of jail? Or would this be unfair to the democrats?

This seems to be the agrument, not whether or not global warming is happening.
I have done a lot of rock climbing in my life. One major rule in climbing is not to disturb even small rocks on a mountainside. One small stone when dislodged can create a huge rock slide as it tumbles down the mountain.
This is how tiny man has started a cycle in climate change that will take centuries to settle. At this point it is too late to stop the cycle that has already started. But, it's a good time to stop kicking stones down the mountainside.
There are many programs already available to help stop carbon emissions. Many state and the federal government will help install photovoltic cells on residential rooftops and tie those cells into the power grid. This technology alone can cut CO2 emissions considerably.
Everyone needs to stop passing the buck on global warming and take measures into their own hands.
Do you own a rooftop?

My ex husband just got 12 years in prison, for sleeping with a 12 yr old and getting her pregnant, she apparently "wanted" it. But then his father a loooooong time ago slept with his own daughter who was 16 at the time and he gets charged with rape and life in prison. Ok so whats the difference, they are both sick men, (yes I know I married a moron, but as you can see thats why i'm divorced) anyways, so how are these charges different?

To calculate the price that Iraqis have paid for the American misadventure in their country, you have to deal in big, round, horrifying numbers. Civilians killed last year: 34,000. Driven from their homes within Iraq: 1.8 million. Fled to other countries: an additional 2 million, and growing. The number of Iraqis who have found refuge in the United States is easier to pin down. This country has admitted a grand total of 466 Iraqi refugees since 2003.

However President Bush tries to manage the endgame of his dismal war, America has an obligation to the Iraqis whose lives it has upended. It owes a particular debt to those who have face

He's five foot-two, and he's six feet-four,
He
fights with missiles and with spears.
He's all of
thirty-one, and he's only seventeen,
Been a soldier
for a thousand years.

He'a a Catholic, a Hindu,
an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew.
And he knows he shouldn't kill,
And he knows he
always will,
Kill you for me my friend and me for you.

And he's fighting for Canada,
He's
fighting for France,
He's fighting for the USA,
And he's fighting for the Russians,
And he's
fighting for Japan,
And he thinks we'll put an end to
war this way.

And he's fighting for
Democracy,
He's fighting for the Reds,
He says
it's for the peace of all.
He's the one who must
decide,
Who's to live and who's to die,
And
he never sees the writing on the wall.

But without
him,
How would Hitler have condemned him at Labau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone,
He's the
one who gives his body
As a weapon of the war,
And
without him all this killing can't go on.

He's the Universal Soldier and he

She was in a bad situation with drugs and an abusive relationship when she was 17 and her answer to get out was to join the national gaurd. She passed basic and is going to AIT in the summer after she finishes high school. But she doesn't want this, I don't want this. Does anyboby know a way to void her contract or get her discharged before her AIT class starts? Or even durning AIT? She's in less than a year so it'll be entry level seperation, I just don't want her to to get a bad record if she doesn't have to.Please, any help would be appreciated.

Please don't answer this if your going to say "suck it up!" or try to point out the benifits of staying in. I know the pros and cons and still want her out. Thanks.

PS I was in the army myself, 4 years/infantry so I'm pretty knowledgable.

People come up with the outrageous NOTION that Showing DISSENT for your government somehow equates or defines Democracy or Freedom ?

Countless posts over the several months that I've been here.. . Proudly proclaim that showing dissent IS the definition of Democracy !!! Who put that notion in their heads ? While the Freedom to show dissent is available and legal.. . . . . IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM does that define democracy nor indicate patriotism !! FACT . Where the heck did this come from ?

And how the heck do we correct it ?

All that's in Arlington is the Ameriquest Baseball Field, Hurricane Harbor, Six Flags, and movie theaters, but it's nice. Anyway, I heard a rumor that Arlington, Texas was on the top of the FBI's new watch list for terrorists [4 months ago] and one week before this, there was an announcement about Dallas Texas being the most dangerous city in America. This is ironic because Fort Worth [1 hour away from Dallas] is the 5th SAFEST city in America! I am so confused! Any insight? Arlington is 30 minutes away from Dallas and 30 minutes from Fort Worth. Why would the terrorists want to bomb Arlington?
