Lady Lake is a small close net community. I was chasing that storm and almost got killed. There is 0 crime and no low income people or people on welfare living there.
Florida and New Orleans is comparing Apples to Oranges. 2 Cities but different type of people living there.
New Orleans is now the murder capital of the US. Florida, except Miami has low crime and almost no murder except when you have someone smoking crack or using any drugs.
Orlando has only one street which has prostitution and cops do nothing because they are trying to make money and not breaking laws or being open about there business.
New Orleans they rip off there clothing especially Mardi Gras and solicit anyone and everyone. And, are very harrassing and intimidiating.
So in retrospect FHP, Flkorida Highway Patrol, roadblocked the whole community so rescue workers and construction companies can do there job.
While New Orleans they threw everyone in the arena and a killing spree happened.
If you want to live in a safe community move down to Florida. Just stay away from Miami.
And, look how far away residents had to go to get to a homeless shelter.
Like I said comparing apples to oranges. And, no National Guard is needed. Since there are no looters, vagrants, and is a small community which can be rebuilt in under a month.

I have not checked but if there is no pictures or reports of looting it does not mean there isn't any. News is bias and will show what ever looks the most interesting or sensational.
Keep in mind Florida has more experience handling hurricanes and disasters than New Orleans. They were very lucky up until Katrina.
Also you are comparing a whole STATE to one CITY. New Orleans has always been a rather seedy town it's part of it's charm. Perhaps you need to compare a similar CITY in Florida.

?? Unable to decipher what you're trying to say... a quick check of Yahoo! News and Lexus-Nexis shows NO reports of looting in the Florida storm area...
State governor Charlie Crist DID declare a state of emergency in four counties after the pre-dawn storms Friday. (AP wire story)
"If we find anybody looting, we're going to deal with it," the Volusia County sheriff said at an friday afternoon news conference (KTLV 7 report)... the Florida National Guard and various local police agencies are on the scene to prevent any looting
New Orleans went to hell in a hand-basket because the COPS there are corrupt and the populace is criminal like their elected officials....

It's simple. Obviously, the Florida Governor has not declared Marshal Law or a state of emergency. Without that, the National Guard has no authority to intevene in civilian affairs.
