I think it was right on the mark.

It wasn't bad (you know, really evil) if you read between the lines. I think he was trying to say that Obama is the first black candidate with a chance of being elected. However, he did choose his words very poorly indeed. I agree with the previous poster that he has saved himself a lot of money. His candidacy is dead in the water for the second time because of what he has said, either by opening his mouth or on paper.

Interesting question on whether it highlights the Democratic position on race. Here in the south, many Democrats come from a segregationsist tradition. They just keep it well-hidden most of the time. What it does do, then, is highlight the traditionally southern Democratic view (Delaware being on the Mason-Dixon Line). I think it would be hard to attribute that to Democrats in the north-east and west.

It's primary importance is to highlight the gross difference in the way the media spins GOP gaffes versus Democrat gaffes. Had Biden been a Republican Senator Reid and Hillary would be calling for his resignation from the Senate.

Well many famous African American males are rappers...

I don;t think it highlights the Democratic position on people's race. Democrats are in fact thought of as favoring black people and other minorities over whites.

Biden's an idiot. As far as the race card goes, The democratic party is very racist,They try to keep the Black American down and dependent on government socialist programs. Look at New Orleans~

There is racism in every party and in from every race. What this DOES highlight is the liberal media's lack of coverage. If a Republican had made those comments, the media would be screaming for their head on a platter.

I can't stand Biden, but what he said is true. Its pretty sad when what he said is considered racist, have we forgotten what real racism is? Obama Mama Pajama IS only being talked about for the very reason's Biden mentioned. FACT. End of story.

I just asked about this and was told repeatedly about how old the news was. Fine, I don't 'track' Democrat contenders, but I read news copiously, and the Yahoo headline tag was the first I saw about this.

He sure did imply that most African Americans were not 'clean', and I wonder if he would say that to Colin Powell's face?

Yes it was. It shows that he is a racist bigot and not presidential material. Good thing he imploded so early, saves a lot of money. He should donate these funds he won't be using to the homeless. Of course the liberals have no use for them except on election day.
