Not from what I have seen. Those who scream the loudest for "tolerance" are some of the most intolerant folks I have ever seen. Just take a look around these boards.

After the fall of Atlanta, Hood moved northward to threaten the Western & Atlantic Railroad, Sherman’s supply line. He attacked a number of minor garrisons and damaged track during October 2-4. Sherman sent reinforcements—John M. Corse’s brigade—to Allatoona just before the Rebels attacked there. Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French’s Confederate division arrived near Allatoona at sunrise on the 5th. After demanding a surrender and receiving a negative reply, French attacked. The Union outer line survived a sustained two and a half hour attack, but then fell back and regrouped in an earthen “Star” fort of Allatoona Pass. French repeatedly attacked, but the fort held. The Rebels began to run out of ammunition, and reports of arriving Union reinforcements influenced them to move off and rejoin Hood’s force.

To set the question, let me say this. I'm straight and married with two children. I've never been arrested nor do I do drugs or drink. I give 20% of my income to charity, etc, etc. I basically act like a model citizen, however, I don't think gay marriage is that big of a deal and now I'm public enemy #1 according to some. There are much larger issues that need to be addressed, so why is gay marriage the BIG ISSUE? Any answers referring to the Bible or branding me a "liberal" are not quality as it's not the issue. The question concerns why government action is needed here rather than somewhere more important....

I'm seeing all sorts of questions posted slamming Hillary for saying she'll end the war. Why is this? Is that not what we expect from the next President? She won't be sworn in until 1/20/09. Do we expect this war to continue on well into the next decade? Isn't that what the mid-terms were all about - an end to the war? Some soon after were screaming the Dems weren't doing anything. Now a candidate steps up and says she will end this mess if she is elected and she's getting slammed for it? What kind of sense does that make? Don't we WANT this war to end? I'm asking these questions to try and get a sense of whether it is really just Hillary haters that are taking her task for this or is it also those who voted for the Dems in the mid-terms? Thanks for your, hopefully, well thought out answers.

Over one year ago I got a misdemeanor ticket for possession for a small amount of marijuana. Recently I just got denied permission for an out of state ski trip that I had been planning on for several months. I still have another year left of probation but have had no other problems and completed all terms of my probation. Anyone have any idea if at any point I am allowed to travel out of state before this probation ends? Originally it was indicated by my probation officer that after I completed everything it shouldn't be a problem. I just don't understand why this was just denied.

Does that mean the 2,500 scientists who arrived at this consensus are all liberals?

"The 21-page summary of the assessment, which is thousands of pages long, concludes that global warming over the last 50 years is "very likely" due to the increase in emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. "Very likely" indicates a confidence of more than 90 percent."

You can't take certain jobs in the army for colorblindness when you first enlist. My recruiter said that once you are in the army and you change your M.O.S. after reenlisting that you could get a wavier for jobs that you would otherwise not be able to get because of being colorblind.
If i couldn't get 19d b/c I'm colorblind but I enter as an 88m and then change to 19d after a couple of years then they would waiver you me in.

I think that George Bush Sr. was alot better at making the right calls when it came to Iraq and so on. Don't get me wrong! I am glad Saddam is dead!!! But he is dead at the expense of alot of American casualties. I don't really disagree with the war in Iraq. I just think the planning should have been better. But then again I'm not the commander and chief or the top dog in this campaign. There is alot that we are unaware of without a doubt!! I think Saddam had connections to terrorist. I think that is way too obvious! Its hard to say however, whether or not Saddam had connections to Bin Laden or Hezbollah. But I have no doubt whatsoever that he was connected with some terrorist organization. But I wonder how Bush Sr. would handle this situation compared to his son? Its an interesting thought. I don't believe that George W. Bush (Jr.) had bad intentions in invading Iraq. I just think he made some mistakes!!! And you shouldn't make costly mistakes that cause alot of American casualties.
