Well more has been sent there than to any hurricane area. Local & state leaders have wasted the money. Not our problem but New Orleans problem. many people moved & liked new area. They are not going back to New Orleans, our city has over 250 & according to the interviews on news less than 20 plan to return.
I have donated personally (time- a trip to help clear brush w/church & money) & my taxes have paid enough to rebuild New Orleans a few times. I am done, I am sorry to say. At some point personal responsibilty comes into play.

Because so many of the people are not asking for the Feds to help them help themselves. They want a handout. Rita struck the southwest part of the state and East Texas right after Katrina. Those people aren't whining. They are taking care of business. Another secret - The mayor and governor are not taking care of business.

Once in a while, it's mentioned on the NYC news about the little progress being made in New Orleans. The last news report I heard was the murder rate in NOLA escalated to the highest in the country. Who's helping? Obviously, no one. Only the government is big enough and rich enough to help.

It's difficult to help people who won't help themselves. Take a look at Florida today, after the tornadoes struck. What do you see? People helping others or people waiting on a check to arrive?

They don't care about themselves, why should we? All they want is $$$ anyway. There is no effort on their part except to cry that we are not giving them $$$.
