Okay men in uniform...just curious, when you first start dating a girl, what questions should she just not ask you? Ones you absolutely hate, dread or will NOT answer?
Thanks....I love the boys in blue! :)

Does anybody have a succint description of redistricting in the USA today? Or any problems that result from predominant redistricting schemes, such as safe seats, and polarization. Any arguements for, or against redistricting? Or new proposals on a different way to do it?

I have to write a paper over this so I was just trying to find input, also if you know any good websites that would have good information, it'd be appreciated.

Is it because the notion we have an enemy that must be killed in order for us to survive frightens them too much. Is it because they won't have to defend themselves if just the presidents needs dealt with rather than men with guns? Is it that fear driving these conspiracy theories?

I am really passionate about the subject. I would really appreciate anyone who has worked in this field or is knowledgable in this area to give me some insight. Is this a good field? what should I expect that is not told to me about this field? Anyone have some advise on how to go about going into this career? I am aware there is not a lot of money in this type of law, so should I do another type of legal field early in my career or should I do this first and another field later? Any advise is appreciated

Our forefathers fought and gave their lives so that we might enjoy freedom. However in recent times people are choosing safety over freedom of movement. They are choosing safety over privacy. I don't know about you but I made it through childhood without car seats, I made it through childhood without a safety helmet when I rode my bike. I just don't get why we are so willing to add cost and hassel to our lives when these things did not affect us as we grew up.

This is something that Frederick Douglas said

"They (who favor Mexican War) have
Succeded in robbing Mexico her
Territory. And they are rejoicing
over their sucess under the hypocritical
pretense of regard for peace. Had they not
succed in robbing Mexico of the most important
and most valuable part of her territory, many
of those now loudest in cries of favor
for peace would be loudest and wildest
for war.... we are not the people to
rejoice. We ought ratter blush and hang
our heads for shame"

I am studying WW2 history. Most history books say that Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor forced USA's entry in WW2. Historically correct. But there are some books that claim more than that. Those books (not many) say that Roosevelt had prior knowledge of that attack. US military intelligence were intercepting and reading coded Japanese military and diplomatic messages. Roosevelt was informed of Japanese plan of attack on Pearl Harbor. At the time, Congress, being isolationist is against US involvement in any war (only token materiel support to England). So Roosevelt intentionally witheld this information. Commanders in Hawaii were not given this knowledge either, and so no preparation was made by them. And so the Japanese attack happened without much resistance. The next day, Roosevelt gave his famous "Day of Infamy Speech" before Congress. From isolationist attitude, Congress now unanymously voted for declaration of war. So US was finally at war with Japan.

Your opinion about this?.

Let's say you were raped seven or eight months ago. You didn't see your attacker but kept having weird dreams about this symbol. One day you are at the pool with one of your friends and his boxer shorts falls a bit lower because of the water and you see the symbol that you kept dreaming of tattooed on him. You confront him about it and he smirks telling you that it you can't prove it...and insinuates that he was the one. You destroyed all physical evidence but you can swear on your grandmother's grave that it is him... you want to report it. What channels does it go through and is it possible that he may be tried? Even without any physical evidence and its basically his word against yours?

France declared war on the Nazis when they invaded Poland, the USA were cowards and refused to declare war, when London was bomb and lost 40 000 civilians, the American response was to pass a law forbidding Americans to fight the Nazis.
it was only when the USA was attacked that the USA grew a little back bone and stopped supporting the Nazis and joined the brave french and British, a very very cowardly act by America

I have some idea of what i want to ask, i guess i just need some suggestions. Im proud of him wanting to go, but at the sametime, i dont want to miss him or worry about him. If it wasnt for the war i wouldnt be worried so much...
