Depends on how bad of a stroke he had. It also depends on who their govenor appoints. The person appointed will serve till 08 and then there will be an election!

Based on what I've read so far I doubt it. It's being reported as a possible stroke. A guy I work with had a mild stroke about a year ago and was back at work in a couple of weeks. If it turns out that the senator has to step down the governor would pick a replacement. He's a republican but can select a democrat, he's not limited to party. S Dakota already has a republican senator so he might go with a dem in order to respect the voters wishes and because it would only be for two years. At the same time he will be under pressure from the GOP to pick a republican in order to swing control of the Senate to the republicans.

They will tap another Dem if the stroke was bad and maybe in 2008 we will see the Republicans back, but until then the Dems are the majority like it or not.

no....since delays and some other ones r out of congress....the democrates have most power....and hopefully it stays tht way!!
