Hey why not.

Tony is planning on retiring , so if he really did want to scupper the chances of, "Brown nose Gordon" , then a draft would guarantee a no re election.

Probably,
but we have no idea of when it may be nor whether it will be for war or a natural disaster or to cope with an economic depression.

I'd say the odds are 7% that it will happen during the next 10 years; 28% for the 40 years after that; 35% for the 150 years after that and 30% that it will never happen again or not before 200 years from now. This means your answer is more yes than no but with no urgency nor a presumption of war on it.

Sometimes i think they should as it would clear up the problems off youths and ASBO's etc etc. The only problem is that there would be a massive outcry in the public and the current government would be kicked out by the public pretty ricytick.

If you were forced to fight by draft you would be less willing than the brave men and women who volunteer to do it.

The way this lot in Government is going on there will have to be. If the forces got any smaller every one would be on first name terms. More people work for Tesco than are in the Navy.

I don't think the army would want a draft, and where would these soldiers be billeted?.
After seeing some of the Q&A on Yahoo can you imagine what would happen if they had to fight on the same side, they would be shooting each other.

The uk could try it but what would a black, asian, muslim or anyone who has been racially abused fight for. I think most would refuse. I would fight against the real enemy such as the BNP. I think they should send these neo nazis. The is no government on this planet i would fight for, nor could they make me fight for them to keep a bunch of rich people even richer.

i trhink there will but it wont be just us it will be the war on "terror" and basically we will be drafted to invade every country that is not controlled by world banks(the new world order)http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=786048453686176230&q=terrorstorm

i gotta say i wont play any part in it ,i would fight for my country in need but i wont be used as a tool for trillionaire familys that own world banks and basically want to use war to enslave us in our own personal police state in which we will be slowly be killed off in an 80% world population reduction ,but hey live life to the full because you never know when your freedom will be taken from us . WAKE UP ZOMBIES or its game over.

Highly unlikely as the senior military do not want one. The thinking is that volunteers are more committed to their job than people who are forced to be their against their will.

I don't think so as the army does not want the dead heads off the streets and the Navy and Air force certainly wouldn't.
