The general contractor we hired to work on our house drove out to our property yesterday hit one of our dogs with his truck while driving up our long driveway. (Our dogs are contained by invisible fence, and they have NEVER crossed that fence line, so we knew the injury occured on our property.) We found our dog injured when we got home, took her to the vet, not knowing what had happened, and the vet confirmed it was not animal attack but "road rash"...she got multiple stitches, no broken bones, but so sore she can hardly walk. We talked to a neighbor who was outside working on a fence all day and saw the contractor's truck arrive. He said he heard a "commotion" and that if "anyone hit your dog, it was that red truck". The 1st three times we called the contractor, he hung up on us without answering. Finally, he answered & said the dogs were "close to the truck but he didn't THINK he had hit one". We knew he did it but he didn't want to admit. Do we have any legal recourse?

An ex-friend of mine said:

'If you can't afford university it's your parents fault for not working hard at school and getting a decent job.'

Do you this is snobbish?

Over history Liberal Americans have volunteered to be a part of a number of causes. In WWI they drove ambulances and flew airplanes. During the Spanish Civil war they joined the Abraham Lincoln Brigade to fight faschism. Why don't Republicans that believe in Iraq do the same?

Shouldn't these people just take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming the police for their stupidity?

Of course, those people with critical jobs may still need to show up, such as police and power station engineers. I am not suggesting that these services be stopped.

Imagine the impression we could make by simply NOT SHOPPING for one week! Nothing other than the most basic items, such as milk and diapers. No restaurants, no movies, no special sales.

Imagine the relief on our environment (albeit for one week). Wall Street would freak out. The US Congress might actually wake up from their overbloated slumber. Our bosses might threaten to fire us, but then they would have to fire EVERYBODY, assuming we could stand together.

I am not talking about a communist or socialist revolution of any kind.

I am talking about taking a stand against the greed of Washington DC and Corporate America. Greed is killing us.

We need to show those in power that we the people control the economy, our government, and our futures.

My husband's ex-wife from hell used my social to obtain a phone and put her power bill in my name. She never paid either and they were on my credit report. We have since had them removed. We reported this to the police and they said nothing could be done because the companies are not pursuing me for the money. Now, we find out she is using my son's name for credit AND another son I had who passed away several years ago at age 5. This woman tries to find every way to make our lives miserable and not only that she uses her kids as leverage. What can be done legally to make her get a taste of the big house? I just can't believe she is untouchable. She lives in VA and we're in GA, if that helps.
