Daughter met him over the internet 1 year ago and he told her/us he planned on staying with us for Xmas. She has not heard from him in 4-5 days and I sent him a note asking him if he still planned on visiting and what he liked to eat?? Where is he is he ok or just dumping us? He claimed to really care for her and talked to her all the time via phone and emails.? Worried Mom

First of all it is probably not a good idea to invite people you talk to on the internet to come visit. Second he probably wanted to meet your daughter alone and when he found out it was the whole family changed his mind. I sure hope your daughter is being safe on the internet. I would't even trust that that guy is in the AirForce. If you still feel worried then contact the police and let them know that he was expected and has not shown up.

If he is still on active duty, there could be a possibility that he had a misson, and is not able to acess the internet/phone etc. That happens in the military, a lot. Being a military mom myself, I know there is many times that my son isn't able to have communication due to a mission or being in the 'field' for a week at a time, or for many other reasons. Many times they are not alerted to a mission, until it happens, and cannot tell their commanding officer "hold on I gotta write an email first". And a lot of times they are not allowed to divulge any thing related to their job. If his intentions are/were serious, I'd assume he would let your daughter know, as soon as he can, if he is detained in some way due to his job.
It could be possible he is 'dumping' your daugher, but I'd like to think not. Most military personel have high integrity, and are very honorable, and I'd like to assume he does too. Assuming he really IS in the AIr Force. Hope that helps in anyway.

My brother is in the military and he can vanish off the radar for a week or so when they get busy with stuff. Then he calls us. So give him a few days to make sure he aint just super busy.

No need to worry. Sometimes when they're in transport, that's just the way it is.
