A young girl in my office has already been called twice this year for jury duty. She complains that she and her spouse are frequently called and she wishes it would stop. I'm in my 30's, and can think of no reason why I would not have been asked to serve yet I never have. How do they decide who to call or not? What makes you eligible?

ok, so my ex wants me to pay for half of his travel expenses to come see his daughter, which I think is crazy. Not only that but he insists on having her take his last name, which will only lead to mockery as is name sounds like a food. He says that if I don't change her name she won't have any claim to any of his estate. He has seen this gorgeous little girl 3 times, less than a week each, and she is 18 months old... Is there any legal basis to changing her last name?

I see on this site people are speaking of him as if he was some devil but wasn't he just trying to help them and himself to a better life. When illegals break laws and come here everyone is quick to say they are just trying to make a living or better their life. Williams was trying to do the same but he is evil according to the illegal supporters.

He says that we are neither winning, nor losing the war in Iraq. REALIST! I love his pragmatism.

I love his pragmatism too when he says it is time to try talking to Iran and Syria.

Why doesn't the USA do a navel blockade like JFK did against Cuba ?

We could refuse to let any ships through which were carrying nuclear weapons bound for Iran.

Robert Gates, the White House choice to be the next defense secretary, conceded Tuesday that the United States is not winning the war in Iraq and warned that if that country is not stabilized in the next year or two it could lead to a "regional conflagration."

Why in the world would anyone think an elective abortion should be legal between 5-7 months pregnant is one thing,

but Where is their proof that premature babies always die before 28 weeks?
And why don't they see that their viability as it pertains to legality argument crumbles when advancing technology allows many premature babies to live and thrive who might have been butchered electively without anesthesia otherwise?

My BF is a logistical professional in the army. His assignment will start next year and be 12 months.

He told me most of the time he will be in highly secured military bases training the Iraq troops on that subject matter. He said he would only occasionally travel from one base to another, and that'll be the only time he may not be in contact for a couple of weeks. In all, since he's not in a combat unit so it's very safe.

"It's like you are in the Marketing and your boss will not ask you to program the IT system, because you are not trained to do so and you are not an IT professional." He joked as I work for corporate.

I know he's trying to do everything to make me less worried. But I also need to know the truth. Is he just comforting me? What are the chances to hit a roadside bomb or suicide bomb in the local market??

I want to be strong and be supportive to him but deep in my heart I am really freaked out! I wish I could go with him and live or die with him!

Rumor has it Democrats will be pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens. Isn't this the same thing we did under Reagan? I thought the unions (heavy Democrat supporters)weren't in favor of amnesty? Will this be a trade off Democrat dumping the union support for the illegal support? Will they come back in a few years and say let's offer amnesty again?

What is the point of jumping though all the hoops of becoming a legal citizen if illegal aliens get it handed to them on a platter? If you are a naturalized citizen I REALLY want to hear your views on this one.

So previously when the Republicans took over COngress and President Bush won his 1st election the conservatives calle liberals whiners and told them to deal with the election results.

Anyone else find it hystercial that the conservatives are doing the very same thing now that they have lost Congress?

I am not trying to say liberal is better than conservative because to me they are both about the same thing..I just still laugh everytime I see a conservative crying about the election.

I know that I am pretty stupid most of the time, but if I was President then I would have lots of smart advisors around me to tell me which buttons to push.

And my boyfriend tells me that I am quite pretty, so I am sure all of the foreign leaders would like me also.

So do you think that I could be President ?

I saw the clip where he got all choked up while saying how proud he is of Jeb serving with honor. I guess his honor and integrity were not so apparent to those of us not from Florida. Is this just a proud dad, or is there a real reason Jeb should be so revered?

I'm freaking confused on what is happening with immigration reform in congress. So far I think this is what is going on...the senate wants to pass a bill allowing for a guest worker program and amnesty for the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the country. The house is more hardline, i believe, and wants the border secured first. So is this correct? Also, what is the difference between the Dems and GOP stances on the issue?
