Rumor has it Democrats will be pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens. Isn't this the same thing we did under Reagan? I thought the unions (heavy Democrat supporters)weren't in favor of amnesty? Will this be a trade off Democrat dumping the union support for the illegal support? Will they come back in a few years and say let's offer amnesty again?
What is the point of jumping though all the hoops of becoming a legal citizen if illegal aliens get it handed to them on a platter? If you are a naturalized citizen I REALLY want to hear your views on this one.

Let's get it right. Politicians looking for votes are looking to give amnesty. The Rep Pres. is looking to give amnesty as well. So this issue isn't a Dem v. Rep. issue.
This amnesty is ridiculous. They should NOT be given it and if they do then they should be cut off of certain rights; like voting and Social security. And they should be forced to learn English (which should be our national language anyway).
We have the slackest laws in the world for immigration. Why can't they just do it right, the way to many have?
And for those who say that we are all illegal aliens....No we're not. My family didn't come over till the beginning of the 20th century, long after the Mayflower landed, and most families came here long after that. And when my family came here, it was legal and they worked hard to assimilate into the American culture and learn the language and made sure their kids knew the language.

I don't believe amnesty is the best option. I think if the country can absorb more immigrants, we should support legal immigration.

We are ALL immigrants. Except for Native Americans thus they are the only ones who really get a say in the matter.
