They're not popular as they are now. They're still popular in rural areas of the south though. They're still running strong in Mississippi too.
American Girl, although Sen. Robert Byrd of WV was a KKK member, he IS ONE NO LONGER! He said that he regrets ever becoming a member.
Harley, the NAACP, La Raza, AMA, CAIR are NOT racist groups, dummy. The Black Panthers(the group that Huey Newton founded) was not a racist group. It was formed in the '60s after or around the race riots took place in every city across america. The group was intended to bring their fellow blacks up from the oppression that many felt that they were still under.
However, the NEW Black Panther Party is a black separatist group.

They show up in different towns and have a parade. Its legal so they get away with it. No one pays attention to them because they are just fools. Even the media does not play their game anymore. Too bad the media doesn't stop playing Americans against Americans in the media today. Its exactly what the terrorists want to increase their power by decreasing our president's power. There are so many stupid people who watch the news and celebs and believe it all. All to benefit the islamic fundamentalists who will eventually own America if CNN and NBC have anything to do with it.

They are hated.Their numbers are small and NO ONE will let them do anything other than have prison gangs and maybe, maybe a march or two.
The comparison of the KKK and Islamic terrorists is ridiculous, we the people stood up and put an end to the KKK and the Muslims should do the same with their radicals. That they do not leads me to believe they back them far more than they will admit.

Here in KY. they exist in some areas. A few years ago they had a rally in downtown Lexington. Not even the media bothered to show up. They are as obsolete as the 8-track tape, but with significantly less value. They do provide a good example of what happens without education though.

See the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project map of hate groups nationwide at the link below.
Three cheers for Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, New Mexico, North Dakota and Hawaii (zero hate groups in their states in 2005)!!!

They sit around and complain.
Popular enough that I insist on stopping in Mississippi ONLY if it's daylight.
In a crowded place.
