I see on this site people are speaking of him as if he was some devil but wasn't he just trying to help them and himself to a better life. When illegals break laws and come here everyone is quick to say they are just trying to make a living or better their life. Williams was trying to do the same but he is evil according to the illegal supporters.

I see that many people answered with Anger over this and I think it was taken wrong. Williams did a dumb thing whether it was knowingly or not but people that climbed into that truck are ultimately responsible for their actions not the driver. See here is a problem with the US today, we fail to hold people responsible for their own actions. Williams is kind of like Dr Jack gavorcian in that he was a facilitator for people who wanted to do something unpopular and illegal.

I don't need help as someone said. I am a caring person that believes in helping others but I don't believe in holding other people responsible for what some one else chooses for themselves. Yes the people comming in had the choice not to get into the truck. They knew they were breaking the law. They got death based on their choices because it is no secret that trusting smugglers is a bad idea. They chose to take the risk and there fore it is their own fault. I do think that Williams is a criminal but not a murder.

The Williams case is a great example of why illegal immigration needs to be stopped...people died because of his scheme, and there's an even worse example, a bunch of chinese citizens tried to emigrate illegally to the US, in a shipping container, and I think something like 100 of them died, you'd have to reference it for yourself. Anyway, illegal immigration results in a lot of problems, including people dying. So, having better law enforcement and no benefits/jobs etc will 'turn off the magnet' and end the incentive people have had in the past to break the law this way.

Aiding and abetting illegal immigration/illegal aliens is already a crime. More and more people and businesses are getting in trouble with the law for having tried to bring people illegally into the country. Call it human smuggling, human trafficking, whatever, it's still something that needs to end. I think it would be better to have global immigration treaties, that have more countries working together to stop the practice. Good fences DO make good neighbors...

I swear......smuggling is WRONG. These guys get paid big money and they don't care an iota for these people. If anyone really cared about the safety and well being of these people.....they would help them LEGALLY. Ditching a 4 yr in the desert isn't caring. Cramming children in the glove compartments of cars isn't caring. Holding children for child porn and girls for prostitution isn't caring. They are out for a buck and should face the full penalty of the law. Just like big business wanting cheap labor at any expense. Do you think they really care? No one deserves this and even though you THINK it's just a matterof hating mexicans.....IT"S NOT!!! Having the laws enforced is for their safety and best interest as well. I don't want ANYBODY used for cheap unfair labor. I want to stop that. But it's pretty darned hard when there's millions volunteering their services and offering to do it for less. Then at the same time calling me a racist for trying to stop it. Their grand living is going to end up being a life just like it was in Mexico. If not them it will be us because like it or not we cannot afford to handle everyone that wants to come here.

This is the problem of activist taking very one-sided view of the entire situation.

Yes, illegal aliens committed crimes and for that, they should be punished under our laws.

Williams knew, and should have known, those people were in mortal danger, and he did nothing about it. He also aided illegal aliens - which is another crime.

Trying to make a living by comming to foreign land is one thing, but knowingly exposing people to fatal condition is far more serious, on top of aiding others to violate US laws.

The problem was the number of people that died because of all the actions of everyone that was involved.I'm not an illegal alien supporter and I guess it could be said that they were all just looking for a better life,Williams included. It all should have never happened.

It's simple. He broke the laws as well as the smugglers. He knew he was putting those persons' lives in danger. Yet he failed to aid them by letting some oxygen for them or by turning the ac on. He knew better. He should now serve the most severe punishment.

Because he is. He broke the law for one and then he left them to die. If you think that he is not a horrible person you need help. You might be a physcho, no you are. Why don't you ask yourself why Tyrone didn't go and get a real job instead of trying to make fast money without even actually working. You need help!

He commited 1st degree homicide, it was mass murder, because he knew the people inside were dying and didnt help them at all, all he had to do was open the door to the trailer and run. Thats it, simple, so now he should be placed inside a trailer with no air to see what it feels like. He can leave fingernails in the trailer trying to open the door like those people did.

My question is, why in the hell didn't common sense reign supreme in this situation? I mean, come on!! How stupid do you have to be to put seventy five people in the back of an airtight 18-wheeler trailer, and NOT expect people to kick the bucket?

He was motivated by greed. He wasn't trying to help them have a better life. He just wanted their money. He didn't care that he was putting them in inhumane conditions.

I am against illegal immigration but I don't want them to die. Just stay put until they can come legally.
