European, if I'm born in an African Country I'm an African, but If I'm born in an American Country, I'm Latino or Indian or Eskimo but, just like all God's Children I am a human being. God Bless and may you find the path to salvation.

An associate wrote me a check to pay back a debt and immediately after writing the check, she called and stopped payment on the check. When I walked into the bank to cash it, I was informed that she had called in and stopped payment. I still have the check. Can I make her make good on the check and how? Can I file charges even though I am an individual and not a merchang?

Is it legal for an organisation you and your spouse already work for to make a policy against hiring couples, and try to use the policy to force one of you out of the job, or into a lower paying job at the same organisation? Are the rules different for organisations that receive money from the federal government than they would be for a privately owned company? Where can I find the laws that apply to this situation?

I'm a little confused. Here are my beliefs:

Militantly pro-choice
Pro-marijuana (deregulate entirely)
Supports gay rights
Legalize prostitution, but regulate it to protect prostitutes's rights.
Supports universal healthcare and private practice side by side.
Supports stem cell research
Against the war, but glad we nabbed Saddam
Anti-outsourcing
Anti-Wal-mart
Supports minimum wage hike

However:

I'm very against illegal immigration.
I'd LOVE to see things like pepper spray deregulated (and maybe a few of the gun restrictions)
I think welfare's grossly ineffecient right now. Give it to people who really need it.
Against affirmative action, would prefer an effective alternative.
Experiment a little with charter schools, but don't abandon public ones.
Loosen property tax, loosen estate tax, but don't end it.

I was listening to a song in spanish called thank you America or "Gracias America" by Tigres Del Norte. In this song they say "If you are born in Europe you're European, if you are born in Africa, you're African, but why can't you be American if you're born in America, America is a Continent, and it doesn't matter what color we are, we are Americans. Just like son's of God, we are all Humans".

Its interesting to see how Americans standby and cheer or just plainly do nothing when abuses are hurled to their president. Is America such a country with no culture that this kind of behaviour is ok? They are making fun of your president in Canada(with the broke back mountain movie canadian version), the Venezuelan president came and called your president a devil and nobody openend their mouths!!! The world sits back and watches as Americans abuse and taunt their leader shamelessly. Isnt there a man or woman or child who is capable of standing up and saying Enough is Enough? When a country is suffering, America comes to their aid, when people are hungry, America comes to their aid, when a Tsunami strike, America shows up, I mean, thanks alot for all your help. We are very grateful. But please, the world respects you America and believe me, we are soooo amazed when we see how you treat your president. We wonder whether that is some sort of entertainment for us!! Is it?

And does that make any of the pro-illegals question if 'racism' might not be the main point of contention?

"Bruce Merrill, a pollster at Arizona State University, said roughly 40 percent of Hispanics statewide voted for Proposition 300, which prevents illegal immigrants from receiving some public benefits. Merrill said the breakdown of Hispanic votes was nearly identical two years ago when roughly 40 percent of Hispanic voters also helped pass Proposition 200, which required voters to show proper ID at the polls.

In another study, the Pew Hispanic Center found that about 48 percent of Hispanic voters backed a measure that designated English as Arizona’s official language, while 41 percent voted to re-elect Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., who made illegal immigration a central campaign issue. "
