Wrong misterflorida, I consider Socialism to be a utter failure. Since I served during the cold war, I am well aware that communism is a utter failure. The reason is because it destroys INCENTIVE.Why work hard for something, when you can get it by being a lazy bum anyway? Regardless of effort, you get the same dessert.

Progressiveness is always compared with socialism and often intertwined with liberalism because the three systems have related issues.

There are a good amount of progressives that have populist leanings, or practice protectionism by opposing open borders and free trade: not all socialists could be associated with such.

That does seem to be a label that would say left and left again. The other extreme I guess would be called a "Original Intent Conservative"

Your are assuming that socialism is progressive, there are ways of progressing society that isn't relate to failed form of economics.
