I work in a correctional facility where education is provided for individuals seeking crime-free alternatives. I believe that people make mistakes and poor judgements and are free to try to redeem themselves into becoming the people they want to be. I don't see any problems with offenders wanting to do good or even wishing to seek a deeper sense of spirituality. They could probably seek advice from the facility chaplin, I suppose. There are many ministries that, in fact, focus on offenders & helping them lead successful lives once upon their releasing.

Yes, you can take classes in prison for some things. I don't believe you can attend medical school, but as far as basics and things ..of course. We are tryin to educate as many people as we can. And our state taxes are paying for the prisons up-keep. They better be teaching them some skills . Keeps them occupied and helps prepare for when they are released. Minister usual requires a little more knowledge and time than core classes can provide.

Prisoners are given the opportunity to take all sorts of classes -- from getting a GED to college courses. It would depend on the particular prison program as whether or not they offer theology
