American consumers have hundreds of choices for anything from cars to cucumbers. But, when it comes to the election of our public servants, we only have two choices. And the sad fact is that it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils. We need to get rid of the corrupt two-party monopoly that the 'Republicrats' have on our political system and begin giving voters some real honest choices. -RKO-

It did not matter until this particular dynasty took power beginning in 1994. Then this became, "The best government money could buy." Now lets see how much the Dems will cost to capitulate the government to the special interests. I do not trust any of them. Bloomberg, the Mayor of NY City spent $96 per vote to get elected last time. Much of that was his own money. ($68 Million) Now he gets paid about 100 or 200 thousand a year to administer that office. How do you justify spending that much money to work for that small an amount yearly. Of course the answer is the power, better then sex to most of these guys. Now graduate that up to the Presidency of the United States were you spend $40 million to get a job for $400,000 a year. Your either extremely stupid, which does not say much for the Office of President. Or you are extremely crafty and beholden to some SUIT who owns your bottom for his purposes, and not for the purposes of the people. Either way you should not be President. We need reforms so that the people can elect a man who needs the job real bad.

Wow! It looks like I'm the only one who thinks it matters!
Taxes: Republicans are for big business hence the changes in the tax law which only benefited the rich. They lowered taxes for the rich substantially & it will continue to lower each year for several years. However, the Democrats have already stated that one of the items on their agenda is to lower taxes for the middle-class & stop the yearly decreases in the taxes for the rich.
Abortion: Bush/Republicans want to outlaw partial birth abortions (which I agree with) but the Democrats don't.
Environment: Republicans want to allow hunting/oil drilling in national forests & tried to get that thru Congress; Democrats are interested in protecting the environment.
Social Security: Republicans want to privatize it; Democrats don't (neither does most of the public). Becuz of the Democrats it wasn't done.
Medicare: Democrats want to lower prescription costs.
There are many other differences but it is why people should make themselves informed so that they know what they are voting for.

George Carlin once said, and I'm paraphrasing, Republicans stand for nothing but greed, hatred and evil. Democrats just wish they were Republicans.

It is beginning to look like pretty much the same thing no matter who. It does not really matter. We need a true, viable third party to give some competition to the other parties.

No, not really. Party power is like a rollercoaster. Sometimes one party has the power, and enacts legislation accordingly, sometimes not. Overall, the issues you really care about don't change with the party . . . status quo will remain the same on the big issues. For good or bad.

If I absolutely had to choose, I would say Republican, but in the long run, it does not matter. Your vote is sh*t, is amounts to about 0.000004% of the popular vote, and even that doesn't matter with the electoral college.

No. I think that people have lost perspective and instead of focusing on the issues, they worry about who is a liberal or who is a conservative.
Elections are dirty.
I choose to be non-partisan.
When are we going to get a party that is sincerely concerned about the issues?

No, it doesn't matter.
Being a Supreme Court Justice, though, ........ now that's where the power is.
