Why is it that prisoners are given tranquilizers and anti-anxiety medications leading up to their pending death? Why are we wasting money making them more comfortable? I have learned that they are given the option to be put to sleep before the lethal injection! I believe that they should be forced to deal with the whole situation and be conscious during the whole thing, Chances are they didn't give their victim an option.

I work in group homes with many types of clients - those who have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Autism, the developmentally disabled, disabilities due to head trauma, etc. We also have clients placed in our homes because they have been convicted of sexual crimes. One of my clients that is a sex offender is moderately mentally challenged (and it is somewhat visable), and the other was in an accident where he received severe head trauma (Was charged with sexual abuse years AFTER the accident occured.) but seems to be 'normal' to the naked eye and has been in jail before on a few occasions. How do the courts decide that these sexual abusers can live in this group home environment vs. being locked up in prison? What key things do they look for when making this decision? What kinds of information do psychiatrists/doctors have to provide to prove that a group home would be a more suitable living environment vs. their getting time in prison?

I mean every time Israel kills civilians or commits War crimes they brand it as a military operation and launch an investigation which is coincidentally always supported by the Us saying that they have a right to defend themselves, where as every time a Palestinian kills an Israeli civilian they call it terrorism...I mean dont they have a right to defend themselves? and also Israel has shown its courage in the recent Israel-lebanon War in which they targeted mainly civilans, bridges, roads, schools...even one day old babies....

Since it would not be right to legislate morality (laws are based on the protection of other's rights not morality) and yet many people are morally opposed to it. In the middle most oppose abortion but support a woman's right to choose. SO.... What if we kept a woman's rights but denied federal funding of abortions. That way pro-lifers wouldn't be forced to pay for something they are so much against and a woman still has the right to choose.

End result is those who support choice have to put their money where there mouth is and those that are pro-life can sleep with a clear conscience.
