Evaluate this statement... I need help.. i don't really understand this question.. can somebody help me?? it's for a DBQ

haha you must have mr.cuda too! yeah the articles of confederation WEREN"T effective , he doesn't realize that the dbq says to "evaluate this statement". It doesn't say that you HAVE to agree but in class he made it seem as if that's how he wants it written, which is really hard becaue none of the documents support that idea.

The Articles of Confederation did not provide the United States with an effective form of government. There was just 13 states doing what ever they wanted. For instance if a farmer from Connecticut wanted to sell his good in New York, the State could tax him anything they wanted without taxing a farmer from New York. If you sail say from Massachusetts to Virginia, you would also be subjected to taxes. Our founding fathers realized this and came up with the Constitution which worked out much better.
