Why is it that prisoners are given tranquilizers and anti-anxiety medications leading up to their pending death? Why are we wasting money making them more comfortable? I have learned that they are given the option to be put to sleep before the lethal injection! I believe that they should be forced to deal with the whole situation and be conscious during the whole thing, Chances are they didn't give their victim an option.

Statistically, there is a good chance that we have already made a mistake and executed an innocent person. Statistically, there is a good chance that it will happen again. That is why we should continue to treat death row inmates humanely. Not for the guilty ones. For the mistakes which have to happen. No justice system is perfect.

I'm from Texas. We have an Express Lane to the death chamber. I hear the gas chamber is pretty bad. Maybe Texas needs to get one of those.

One of the Ten Commandments, Thy shall not kill. It is well documented to kill someone in self-defense is alright. But to kill someone else for anything else is wrong. Lock em up for life with hard, hard labor. Have a special prison for the killers. Remember in Romans it says don't fight evil with evil, rather overcome evil with good, in doing so he will reap burning coals up on his head. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The purpose of the death penalty is to kill the person, not to cause pain, or cause them to suffer. As long as they die, it worked. We, as a society are better than the animals who's actions require us to kill them, so killing them humanely is the way get rid of them.

It is mainly for the witnesses to not be totally freaked out. Hanging, firing squad, gas chamber, and old sparky was just sick to watch.
