I live in Tallahassee and many are happy. It has not been a total gain that Charlie Christ has weasled his way into being governor. I think it's all the fake tanning products he uses!
Katherine Harris was just a (fill in blank)!

to my calculation the republicans have 50, dems 48, and independents 2. Why are independents counted for the dems.

why are you people happy about the dems taking control of congress? Now we will have higher taxes, we will be less safe than we were before because dems are weak on national security. They are going to have us pull out of iraq, which will say to the terrorists that they win and then start attacking us on our own soil. This is truley a sad day for America

The secretary of freaking defense stepped down. He chose a show horse judge to lead Fema. And many others. Is now the time to Impeach? Wash our hands with him and fix our nation?

I'd love to be able to search back through the last couple of years of Yahoo! Answers political posts to see how many times conservatives have chided us liberals for "being whiners" because we had legitimate questions/complaints about the way they ran the government. Now that it looks like we will control both Houses, they're resorting to the same tactics they decried only days ago. Oh how sad it is...

Now that you have been soundly defeated by the American public, will you lick your wounds or will you step to the plate and help the Democrats try to solve some important issues? I think the people have sent a strong message to you.Rumsfeld is the first to fall on the sword, who's next?

I consider myself an independent but usually lean towards the Rep side. Mostly because I don't like the idea of working my butt off and giving some of my money to people that don't work at all. I see the Democrats and some Republicans as trying to get people such as imigrants to come here and be citizens cause they make money and vote for the Politicians which makes them under the Government's control. Isn't a Gov suppose to be afraid of the people and not the other way around? I don't care about gay marriage, I don't care about abortian laws, I don't care if you think our soldiers are ignorant. I just want a govenment that will give me my freedom, protect me against the axis's of evil, and does not want to control my money and my vote. So am I a Rep or am I Dem? Who's team am I on? How are they different?

I came in the US legally 10 years ago,was married with an US citizen for 2 years.Have full custody of my 3 young US citizen children but can not be legal because I ended my marriage before the 3 years required by immigration law.
I thought about going back to my country (France) but I can not get permission from their father (who I can not blame ) to take my children with me...
So, I am "stocked" here and beside the fact that I am home sick my life as an illegal single mom is extremely difficult.
Attorneys tell me that my case does not fit in any exception,so who can help?
I live in Tampa Florida .

Do you look at each candidate's postions on issues and compare, thinking about who would be best for the office in question, or do you vote for your team (ie: always voting Republican because you are conservative, or always voting democrat, because you're liberal)?
