Lieberman is NOW an independent or an "unaffiliated" member of the senate, meaning he doesn't belong to any recognized party. There for, in order to determine the senate majority and which party has control, he has to caucus with one side or the other, either the republicans or democrats (He really doesn't have to, but with only one other independent in the senate, HE HAS TO!) And sense he is a liberal and former democrat he will caucus with the dems.

There are only two independents in the Senate...not much of a caucus. Lieberman was a Democrat until this summer's primary, and only ran as an independent because he believed he could win in the general election. He's returning to his political roots, I suppose. And if the Democrats win control of the Senate, by caucasing with them, he'll likely become a committee chairman.

He's an independent liberal, and that means he will normally back the democratic party rather the the republicans.

He had to run as a independent to get on the ballot. He's still a Democrat --

I thought independents can give their votes to either party if there is a tie. But not 100% sure.

He should have done the honorable thing an fell on his sword like the rest of the nut jobs we voted out of office. Perplexes me too. They should make a law about losing in a primary, once your out, your out!! Maybe now he'll listen to his constituents and vote their interests rather than act like one of King George's stooges.

After the way that Kerry and Clinton bent him over the back fence and punked him, who knows? maybe he discovered his latent homosexual tendancies and he likes what he got from his faithful "buddies". Watch how fast Dead Ned Lamont disappears from the scope.
