I consider myself an independent but usually lean towards the Rep side. Mostly because I don't like the idea of working my butt off and giving some of my money to people that don't work at all. I see the Democrats and some Republicans as trying to get people such as imigrants to come here and be citizens cause they make money and vote for the Politicians which makes them under the Government's control. Isn't a Gov suppose to be afraid of the people and not the other way around? I don't care about gay marriage, I don't care about abortian laws, I don't care if you think our soldiers are ignorant. I just want a govenment that will give me my freedom, protect me against the axis's of evil, and does not want to control my money and my vote. So am I a Rep or am I Dem? Who's team am I on? How are they different?

What you want is what everyone in the U.S. wants. I'm a democrat who works her butt off and feel that people on welfare for generations is just absolutely robbery. I care about peoples rights in the U.S. because that is why the U.S. was started so they could practice freedom of religion without fear of persecution. I want a government that makes decisions based on the good of everyone not just the good for their pockets. The reason we label ourselves with a party is because we feel that one party or the other will attain those items more successfully than the other. I think most people are right down the middle the problem with our government is there is no down the middle views everythings is either too far right or too far left leaving no compromising and finding solutions thta 1/2 of the country will not be happy with. So you are on the U.S. Team that wants a more successful, honest, rational government. As do I. If i'm wrong then i'm sorry i couldn't answer your question.

By "Republicans and Democrats" I assume you are talking about Representatives and Senators, yes? Well, ultimately, what these people do, regardless of political affiliation, is pass (or not pass) new laws. There are other things they do as well, but mostly, they pass laws. So the question is, how much do you like the laws that have been passed in the last 12 years (the amount of time Republicans have controlled Congress)?

Didn't like NAFTA? Yes, Clinton championed it, but it couldn't have been passed without Republican approval.

Thought anti-gay marriage and anti-flag burning amendments were a waste of time? Democrats have been against these EVERY time they have come up.

You want your freedom? Between the Patriot Act and the new one (you know, the one that let's the government torture 'terrorists'?), you have NO freedom. Now, the administration can point to anybody (even you) and say, "We think he is a terrorist; take him in for questioning." They can hold you indefinately, without even charging you with a crime. They never have to give you a trial. If they do, you don't have any right to examine the evidence against you ("NATIONAL SECURITY," they say). The panel that sits in judgement of you are appointed, FOR LIFE, by the Executive (Which basically means the President), with NO OVERSIGHT by any other branch of governent. You have NO RIGHT to legal council. Basically, the only thing that stands between you and life-long enprisonment (and torture) is the honesty and integrity of whoever is currently President.

Want to be protected from the "Axis of Evil." Guess what? We are less safe now then we were before we went into Iraq in the first place. Do you really think that saying things like "Bring 'em on!" scares real terrorists to the point where they will leave us alone? Of course not. It ENBOLDENS them. We've done nothing but poke a wasps' nest with a stick for the last three years, and now we're wondering why were being stung.

Ultimately, though, my opinion is that the Republican party has been taken over by fascists. Republican voters of 25 years ago wouldn't recognize their party now. What did the Republican party used to stand for? Fiscal responsibility in government. Smaller government. Personal freedom. These things have been abandoned.

The question you should be asking isn't "Which party will help me fatten my wallet?" (which is how I read it), and instead you should be asking "Which party is willing to crush me under their boots if will fatten their own wallets?"

That's just the way I see it.

You sir are neither a Rep or a Dem. Frankly, I hope you don't vote until you educate yourself a bit.
Dem's are socially conscious (which you are obviously not) Liberal in the respect that we want there to be room and rights for ALL - even the republicans.
Rep's used to be fiscally responsible and Conservative in all respects. Who knows what they are today.

Either way, you don't qualify.

Nothing can save any of us from an 'axis of evil'. Its out there.

*Pass a decent minimum wage for working people.

* Force the the government to negiotiate Medicare drug prices like the VA does.

* Enforce immigration laws.

* End Republican "pork".

* Create an open dialogue for the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq.

* Let our allies know that we are not a rogue nation.

* Kill Osama bin Laden.

There are many other things. That's a good start IMO.

Democrats will help the people in need unless like the republicans they don't care about them. Kerry wanted to stop the pollution laws (some of them) to help us but, bush didn't do nothing.Well from your words of wisdom you might consider being on the green side independent. They are not very popular. They too have good things to contribute but, they can't get the words out as public as these 2 groups.

The Democrats are going to save us a lot of money by bringing our troops home to the US. There's no need to transport them to Iraq to fight terrorists, we can bring them home and do it here.

You sound like a Libertarian, by the way.

You sound like a libertarian. You might read John Stossel's books - he has similar views.

Democrats will NOT do anything special.
