Just because you got a medal,doesn't make you a war hero. It just means somebody checked a box saying you met the requirements. Just ask Tim McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber- he got the Bronze Star for his Gulf War service.

And you'd be hard pressed to find ANYONE call him a "warhero."

My dad has a purple heart from WW2 and he loves telling the story about how he got it. Whats Kerry hiding?

Since May of this year, I've had an exclusion order placed against me from entering Canada for a year because I had previously overstayed a visitor visa and lived there illegally for 4 years. I have a wife and 2 young children in Canada who I miss very much and I just want to be back with them.

I tried to appeal it through the Immigration Appeal Division but they said I wasn't eligible to appeal and they wouldn't even consider the appeal on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. I was wondering if there's anything else I can do to try and get it reversed so I can be back with my family in Canada. I'm afraid that if I have to wait another 6 months my children will eventually forget about me and stop loving me because they are so young.

I know people will ask about her coming to the US to see me but we just can't afford it. It will cost around $3000 for my wife and 2 kids to fly round trip to see me and go back. I just want to be back with them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Okay I really feel that the Republicans are trying to find ANYTHING to win, they will scour anybody's speeches for a little of something. Not to say that he didn't say something stupid..but Bush has said numerous things that weren't very bright in the 100's!

This has been a pretty consistent thing. Is it self-delusion or a conscious knowledge that republicans will break any law (and have) in order to win.

Do they also ignore the polls when they say republicans will win?

I've got news for them:

Pollsters seek accuracy. They want to predict what will really happen. Otherwise nobody would listen to them. How is this biased?

Also, exactly how does the mainstream media have a liberal bias when every major news network and outlet is owned by large powerful corporations (which usually benefit from the republicans pro-business outlook)?

ALLENTOWN, Pa. Nov 1, 2006 (AP)— A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the city of Hazleton from enforcing a pair of ordinances targeting illegal immigrants, just hours before the measures were to go into effect.

The measures, approved by City Council last month, would have imposed fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and denied business permits to companies that give them jobs. They also would have required tenants to register with City Hall and pay for a rental permit.

U.S. District Judge James Munley ruled that landlords, tenants and businesses that cater to Hispanics faced "irreparable harm" from the laws and issued a temporary restraining order blocking their enforcement.

"We find it in the public interest to protect residents' access to homes, education, jobs and businesses," he wrote in a 13-page opinion.
